Eirwyn hurriedly ran by the side of Verlem River.
A notification popped out.

Eirwyn was relieved when he saw the notification, he was very worried about what happened to Aria.
He came to a halt and opened the 'Friends' from the 'Menu' with his mind to contact Aria via live video chat.
Eirwyn sent a live video call request.
At that instant, a window popped out displaying Aria's blushed face.
"Aria! Are you alright?" Eirwyn was worried when he saw her.
"You dummy! It's obvious that I'm not okay! Help me!" Aria was clearly a damsel in distress.
"Where are you!? I'll save you!" Eirwyn started to panic.
"I'm here beside the Verlem River. Kyaah! Stay away from me!" Aria was running, it seemed like something was chasing her.
"Verlem? I'm here, why I can't see you around here?" Eirwyn looked around him. He could only see a wide river and trees that grew along on the river bank.
"Don't ask why! Just come here and hurry up!" Aria showed the signs of being anxious about her expression.
"Okay, okay!" Eirwyn nodded.
The live video call was interrupted
Eirwyn started again to run like a wind while looking left and right to find Aria.
The side of the river was rich in vegetation, the roots of the trees crawled underneath the ground that reaches the water from the river allowing it to flourish.
The leaves from trees that reduced his field of vision made it harder for him to find Aria.
Eirwyn reached a very shallow slough beside the Verlem River, at the same time he heard a scream not far from him.
"Kyaaaah! Go away! Go away!"
He recognized that voice, it was Aria crying for help. He hurried towards the direction where the voice came from.
Eirwyn saw Aria fleeing from the mob of bluish slimes that spits sticky liquid to her.
'Blop!'
'Bloop!'
'Bloop!'
Aria fended of the takles and sticky spits of the slimes with her common rarity dual short swords.
She also tried to attack them as she slashed her swords but it had no effect. The slimes regenerated very fast.
Aria already used up all of her skills to kill other slimes before, they were in cooldown and her mana reached on critical levels, she was unable to cast any skills anymore.
Aria's Sui Generis was Twilight Myrmidon, mainly a physical melee type so her attacks wasn't really effective to physical resistant and high regenerating bodies of slimes.
She also ran out of 5 Grade I health potions that only restores 2.5% of maximum HP with 2 minutes cooldown.
Slimes were commonly seen in RPGs and became staple monsters and overused by gaming companies by recycling their models then changing their stats and color palettes.
Their appearance was cute blobs and has varieties mostly in color depending on their types.
Well, slimes are resistant to physical attacks but they are vulnerable to magic attacks.
Slimes are typically depicted as either mindless or, at most, exceedingly stupid, which means they don't need much motivation to attack you, and you don't have much remorse attacking them. They seldom have more complex motivation than "feed."
This makes them easy to present as enemies, as you never need much setup for them.
Here, in Halcyon, they were entirely different.
The appearance of these slimes is transparent bluish blobs that looked like a humongous ameoba, truly horrid and nasty.
Not only that, these slimes caused Eirwyn to enjoy the scene in front of him in a little while.
Blood flowed out from his nose and stood there staring at Aria. He forgot that he must help her from danger.
"Oh, well. I'll wait until her clothes slowly vanished." Eirwyn wiped his nose and hid behind a tree.
Aria's black and white hooded tracksuit was almost tattered by the corrosion of slimes' sticky liquid.
Her porcelain white skin and her lingerie were exposed. Who would have thought that this tomboy wore feminine underwear?
Seeing her attacks were useless, Aria desperately fleed. The continuous attacks of the slimes reduced her health to a fatal level of 10%.
"Why! I just wanted to level up! This game is too cruel! Someone, please help mhpghmnnrnfghg" Aria lost her balance as her foot tripped on a rock and fell off on the wet soil.
She lost her grip and accidentally let go of her swords that flew on a distance that she can't easily reach.
"Sheep! What am I doing! I'm really ducked up!" Eirwyn hurriedly opened his 'Skills'.
