Lord Ren frowned upon hearing the words of the two officers. He then asked, "But did either of you find the two Xiao sisters?" 

"They are not at home," replied the other officer with a click of her tongue. "We somehow managed to barge inside their house but the two women seemed to have run away already." 

It was not surprising, with the ruckus that Old Master Xiao had caused the two sisters must have already found out that something had gone awry and ran away from the back door. 

In a way, those women also had some guts, after all, who would dare to run away from the yamen officers? People were usually too scared to move whenever they appeared on their doorstep but these two women! 

They were actually daring enough to run away. And they did it so right under their noses! 

The two officers were really furious but what could they do? The two women were gone and even after looking for them, they didn't find either of the two Xiao Sisters.
