Emily and Talon simultaneously turned towards Tobias, who had just made his sudden appearance in the room. The unexpected moment caused a slight awkwardness, and in unison, they muttered, "No, nothing…" Their voices overlapped.
Tobias approached with a sense of urgency, rustling a plastic bag filled with medicines. He tore it open and poured several pills into his palm.
"Open up, Talon," he instructed. As Talon complied, Tobias quickly popped the medicine into his mouth. "These should work wonders, especially with that corn porridge," he joked.
Emily couldn't help but give Tobias a light kick on his leg. "Can you treat him a bit more gently? He's sick, you know."
Tobias defended himself with a grin. "Hey, I'm the one who found him in this state. Rushing to get medicine is my way of showing care, you know!"
As Emily handed a glass of water to Talon, he gratefully drank it down, washing away the bitterness of the medicine.
