Talon remained calm despite the piece of wood that had been thrown at him. The impact wasn't painful, but it did disrupt the peaceful atmosphere for a moment.
However, he chose to maintain his composure.
Someone from the crowd stepped up, defending Talon. "Hey, jerk! What's your problem? If you're here just to cause trouble, why don't you leave?" the person shouted angrily.
The man who had thrown the wood wasn't intimidated. Instead, he stood up with defiance. "Don't blame me!" he retorted.
Then he turned his attention to Talon. "Talon, you said you'd be performing a duet with Claire and Emily. So where are they? Why has it just been you on stage this whole time? Are you trying to deceive us?"
"Yeah, I've been waiting to hear Claire sing," another voice chimed in.
"No! I've been waiting for Emily," someone else added enthusiastically.
Just then, Claire's voice floated through the air, yet enough to quiet the growing unrest.
