Chương 20: Betrayal
"General it has been so long since the last time we fought. You have improved a lot."
"...., If even you can avoid my sword and talk that's mean my skill has dulled."
The Man in black cloak jump and take some steps back. He kept a distance where he was out of the General sword range.
"You did not seem surprised?"
"...Hmm."
The General answer without much care. He always prepared for this kind of thing; betrayal. It's a pretty normal incident for him.
'Heh'
"You know from the start?"
The man in black search an answer from the General but alas there are no ripples in his eyes. It like for him nothing is matter, even if the world ends he would not careless.
"Not really."
His answer made the man in black cloak seething with anger and disappointed. The General did not care about him. They were nothing more than a pawn for him.
"Do you know why I do this?"
He still holds a hope, for General. But the more you hope the more disappointed you are when everything is in vain.
"Don't know and don't care."
For the young General every action that you chose you should take the consequences. That man chose to betrayed him then don't blame him.
Meanwhile the Young Guard becomes more frantic because he have not found the little girl yet. He starred at the fight that come a halt and noticed a bundle behind the man in black cloak. The tent fabric that got destroyed sways when the wind blowing and a little strand of hair could be seen. There's blood that flowing from inside the bundle. And his heartbeat risen up.
"Is that her?"
His mumbling did not lasted long. The Young Guard take his pace and come closer to the bundle. He need to check it. Whatever happened he must take a look and see it. So he unleashed his sword and start swing it to the spy.
The man in black cloak understood that his condition is not that good. After fighting with the young General he received wound all over his body. It a light cut but the amount you can't count with your finger. If he must facing both of them he would not be able to return so before the Young Guard sword reach him he take a step back and smile as he put his sword behind his back. That's right, there is the girl that Young Guard search with so much effort.
The young guard startled and stopped his attacked, his eyes red with anger and worried. He never felt this way before.
In second the Young Guard hesitating the spy throw a dart in his direction. The young General try to block the dart with his sword but the spy attacked him without notice.
The dart fly in the Young Guard direction but it didn't hit him but the fat man that the soldiers hold captive. They have not bring the fat man away because the General hasn't give the order and they could not react in time to block the dart until it embed itself in the fat man abdomen. The fat man hold a horror face there's disbelieve and hate. His body convulsed and oozing blood from the seventh part. Not long after that he died with resentment.
"Young Master or should I call your majesty let's meet again someday."
After said that he look at the General and smile.
"General you're too heartless, you won't have any trust from your subordinate if you are this heartless ah. You will be alone for the rest of your life. You didn't even spare a little girl."
Then he took a step back where the little girl body laying down. He starred at her and say again.
"It's your misfortune meeting someone like him. In the next life make sure you chose a good person."
Then he flew away.
If Ning Rui could hear him she would flapped a table and answer out loud.
"I never chose to met him myself ah!"
But alas she only laying down, motionless and has lost her consciousness long time ago.
