It had been 10 minutes since Alex entered the blue cube, but it still hadn't moved. Not because he didn't want to, but because in front of him was a burning sign that said.
[Waiting for the other participants to start the mission]
With that message, Alex understood that several people could enter the cube and it also seemed that a specific amount of participants was needed to start the mission, so Alex had no choice but to wait.
Alex did not know it because he was inside the cube, but the people who had not been able to enter the different cubes they found began to write in the world chat the particulars characteristics of each cube.
It turns out that each cube has a maximum number of people who can enter. The whites that were the lower level could enter 100 people, the blues 50 people, the greens 20, the purples 5, and the reds, silvers, and gold ones just 1 person.
Although the silver and gold cubes had not appeared or at least no one had posted them in the world chat yet, many red cubes had appeared and if those cubes being the third highest level only allowed one person to enter, it was logical to assume that the ones that were above him had the same limitation.
Soon 20 minutes had passed and Alex was starting to get impatient at which point the flaming message changed stunning Alex.
[The waiting time limit has expired. Since no more participants showed up, the blue cube is updated to red. Now the mission will be explained]
[Survive the situation. If you lend your help the rewards will improve]
Without any additional detail, the infinite space of grasslands Alex was in, changed and he was suddenly in the middle of a big city. Alex was surprised because it was not only a great city but a city in chaos.
With a single glance at the sky, he identified where he was. It was not the first time he had entered one of these worlds, because in his 10 years with the system he had entered several of these worlds, which were generally replicas of movies, anime, and manga, but he had never entered one like this.
The world he was in was the world of Marvel and that was very clear to him because in the sky he could see a huge portal from which strange creatures and monsters between the biological and mechanical came out.
Although Alex wasn't a fan of comics like Marvel and DC, he did like movies and had seen the entire MCU, so he could recognize the situation he was in. It was the battle against Loki and his army in the first Avengers movie.
Although a bit far from the portal, Alex was in the combat zone and that's why he knew the reason why the mission was to survive. For a character new to the world of One Piece, a battle like this was dangerous, but for someone of Alex's power, it wasn't.
Alex felt that with his mastery of Haki, he could stay in this place without suffering, but since he would receive better rewards if he helped, he wasted no time, and taking out his sword from the inventory, he ran at high speed towards the center of the conflict.
As he ran, several of the Chitauri soldiers spotted him and mercilessly began shooting a large amount of blue lightning at him. Although Alex was confident that with his armor Haki he could block them, he didn't want to risk it and chose to dodge the attacks.
He moved quickly and as he got closer, he swung his sword and lopped off the heads of his attackers. He didn't even have to use the techniques of the Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu. Defeating that batch of enemies he continued on his way to the portal.
The closer he got, the greater the number of enemies, but predicting all the attacks, thanks to his Haki of Observation and his great speed, he did not suffer any complications.
He soon reached the center of the conflict and there he was able to see the iconic Captain America and Black Widow struggling with a large number of Chitauri soldiers.
Since Alex knew that this was not an alternative world, but a copy or recreation of that event, he was not worried about appearing in front of the Avengers and trying to help them, he jumped with all his might and landed in front of them and began to cut heads.
Despite being seen, Captain America and Black Widow didn't say anything to him and just continued to fight. Alex was not surprised by the reaction of the Avengers, as he knew that they were like NPCs in a game.
Alex didn't care about that and kept attacking. Every swing of his sword was a head he lopped off and with his strength, it was like cutting grass. As Alex was at the center of an intense battle a large number of high-powered shots were focused on him.
Turning quickly, he dodged but noticed that the one attacking him was Loki along with a group of Chitauri soldiers mounted on the strange flying vehicles. Unfortunately, being in the sky, Alex was unable to shoot them down, but to his surprise, Loki descended from his vehicle and confronted him.
Alex immediately sensed that this was a configuration made by the god of rewards for this mission since Loki was the greatest danger in the place and for someone of Alex's force, only he was a threat and if this configuration did not exist it would be a mission too easy for a red cube.
Facing Loki, Alex did not dare to be negligent. Although Loki wasn't especially powerful in close combat, his ice magic and illusions were dangerous, not to mention he had the scepter with the mind stone that Thanos had given him.
Alex deployed his Observation Haki to its fullest and prepared to attack, but Loki was faster and fired a bolt of lightning from the scepter in his hands. Although Alex had activated his Observation Haki, he was still surprised by the attack and dodged it by a hair's breadth.
Seeing that he couldn't let Loki overwhelm him with these attacks, he rushed towards him at high speed, and in front of him with a battojutsu stance unfurled a strong slash from below.
Ryūkansen. (Alex)
The cut went all the way through Loki splitting him in half, but Alex didn't relax, as he didn't feel like he had hit someone, then the Loki he had cut suddenly disappeared.
