Alexander exhaled a sigh, realizing that he had been pushing the matter too far. He sat down on the couch opposite Old Master Ding, intending to talk about the matter in a more composed manner.
"I've been hostile toward that girl... I mean, Liliana," admitted Alexander. His brows were imbued with skepticism and worries, "But, I don't do it because I want to, Father."
"Hah! Did you think I don't know how suspicious you can be toward someone? Lili isn't the one you should worry about."
Old Master Ding scoffed. He let out his frustrations over how his son reacted when facing Liliana.
Alexander clenched his hands into fists. Sighing again, he repeated the words that garnered his elderly father's wrath.
"But, I'm not lying about Liliana's legitimacy in the Xin family. Even before I met her, I'd heard news about her. People have been talking about how an illegitimate child could marry the Shen heir."
What do you think of Alexander? Would he really do nothing?
