Standing on the balcony, Liliana looked at the photos she had just captured earlier. As promised to Cassia, she took some of the sunrise pictures. Each of them was of good quality.
The photos showed the giant ball of light ascending beyond the horizon, dyeing the skyline in orange, yellow and red colors. The sky above was still dark until eventually, the sun brightened it up.
"I should go to Mom," whispered Liliana to herself.
Stepping inside her apartment, Liliana closed and locked the sliding doors. She stood with her back facing the glass door, recalling the memory of this morning.
Lucas' voice echoed again in Liliana's mind.
"I hope you won't be that defenseless when you're with someone else. What if... the other man is a bad guy?"
When Lucas said that to her, Liliana wondered if those words held a deeper meaning. That was the reason she braced herself to reply to him like that.
