Chương 30: Tywin Lannister

After killing the survivors of the Greyjoy fleet, a frigate found a man whom they took to Aslan. The frigate had recovered Victarion Greyjoy, the admiral of the iron fleet.

On the upper deck of the galleon, Victarion was kneeling before Aslan.

"Kill me, I will never surrender!"

Victarion spat in front of Aslan but in return, he received a punch from one of the soldiers.

"Stop it. There's no point in hitting him."

Aslan looked at Victarion and a few plans formed in his head.

"Victarion Grayjoy, little brother of Balon and Euron Greyjoy, this is a chance to have you alive."

"..." Aslan received a silence in response.

Aslan simply smiled.

"I understand that your brothers stole all the military merit from you and that they received more wealth than you, is it true?"

Victarion's face contracted. The exploit of Victarion is often stolen by Euron who spreads rumors or Balon who pretends to be the brain. Victarion is not a political end, so he can only express his anger in the fighting.

Aslan's words touched on a sensitive subject for him.

"From your expression, I can believe it's true. Victarion, I have a proposition for you."

Victarion glanced at Aslan in response with some interest.

"I know you newborns wanted to be famous, is it true?"

Victarion nodded. The newborns want to go down in history as great navigators to be famous.

"So I suggest you join me. Leave the iron islands and come and work in my fleet. I guarantee you fame and wealth if you join me and only with me will you achieve these goals."

Victarion lowered his head in contemplation. Aslan looked at him standing beside the galleon rudder.

A moment later, Victarion wanted to get up but the soldiers brought him to his knees.

"Not stopped, let him get up."

The soldiers released Victarion and paid attention to any sudden movement.

Victarion approached Aslan under the gaze of all the men on the ship and he knelt.

"Me Victarion Greyjoy puts himself at the service of Aslan Lannister and swears to serve him of my life in the name of the Drowned God!"

"Stand up." said Aslan with a slight smile.

Victarion stood up and looked Aslan in the eyes.

"From now on this fleet will be you. I will let you direct it and with you will become famous, but never think of betraying me or stealing some of these ships, all the men here are loyal and they will never think of betraying me. "

Victarion nodded, ironborn have the same law.

"Well guys, we're going back to Lannisport. When we get back to continue to ship the supplies and the men, we have to be ready in two days."

On the other side, in front of the ramparts, stood an army of 80,000 men. The army was made up of the troops of Robert the new king, Tywin Lannister, Ned Stark, John Arryn, Hoster Tully, Walder Frey.

"Tywin, can you get your son to give up and let them give us the Targaryen bastards."

"I'll try Lord Baratheon. You know my son may be ... stubborn at times."

Robert sniffed, currently Robert only wanted to kill the Targaryens. Ned next to him had a disappointed and sorry look. Ned looked at the remarks with complicated eyes. The man behind these ramparts saved his penny and protected her. Ned also did not want to kill a pregnant woman and a child, it was not worthy of a hero. Ned didn't want to attack but Robert was his sworn brother.

Robert, on the other hand, had his fists clenched as he looked at Lannisport. Ned told him that Lyanna was dead and her body was cremated to the south. Robert put all the faults on Rhaegar's back however the latter was dead by his hand and despite this, his anger did not diminish. Robert wanted to kill all Targaryens in this world even if he had to face an old friend, Aslan.

Tywin was cold but he felt regret. Aslan was a perfect, strong, cunning, unforgiving and decisive Lannister. Tywin wanted to make him his successor if Jamie died, but within a year, his two sons became estranged. The first integrated the royal guard, not allowing him to inherit Casterly Rock and the second betrayed the Lannisters for women. Tywin has always hated women except for Joanna. Tywin has always put forward the Lannister family as his personal family, everything must be done for the Lannisters. He felt happy when his father was dead because it meant he could come to power and correct the Westerlands.

The three men at the head of the army watched the ramparts for a while waiting for Aslan to show up, but no one came. Suddenly a messenger on horseback appeared at Tywin.

Ned and Robert watched the messenger whisper in Tywin's ear. A thin, learned smile on his face.

"Lord Baratheon, it's time to attack, my son is fighting against the Greyjoys at sea, he cannot defend the ramparts."

Robert narrowed his eyes. Robert still wanted the chance to negotiate because Aslan was an old friend. Finally, Robert refused, he still wanted the chance to reason with Aslan, he didn't want to become his enemy. Ned sighed in relief.

Tywin hid his disappointed look. Tywin had used the Greyjoys as a distraction to attack and capture Lannisport without causing too much damage as it was a town under his lordship that produced much wealth for the Westerlands.

The army of the crown watched the ramparts but seeing the sun go down Robert ordered the soldiers to pitch the tents.

On the other side, at the top of Lannisport Castle, was Rhaella Targaryen watching the rebel army in front of the ramparts.

Rhaella as the queen did not know if she should be happy or sad to lose her crown. She had lived her youth in happiness but when she married her brother everything changed. When his brother was irritated or angry he raped her by beating her, he never expressed his sweetness on her. Rhaella considered killing herself several times, but thinking of her children, she couldn't. When Robert rebelled she was only worried about her children and her baby. However, she was saved by a young man and his men who sacrificed themselves for her, and she was taken to safety and protected.

Rhaella for the first time since her marriage wanted to live. She was no longer a prisoner of Red Keep and her tyrant husband-in-law was dead, she was not afraid of anything. Tears fell from his amethyst eyes as he looked at Lannisport.

On the other side of Lannisport, Aslan had just disembarked from his galleon and he ordered his men to continue loading food, materials, and men into the ships to prepare to leave Westeros. After that, he rushed to the ramparts to see if there had been any problems during his absence.

Arrived on the ramparts, various commanders approached to inform him.

"Lord, the army didn't attack us, they stood in front of the walls for hours before they started pitching tents."

Aslan nodded. Aslan was not afraid of an attack, over the years he had reinforced the ramparts for an attack whether by sea or by land. Lannisport as a city could be autonomous and it could resist during 3 years under an armed seat.

In addition, the walls were guarded by the 30,000 Lannisport guards, who are retired or veteran soldiers and by a large part of his personal army.

"Do you know why they didn't attack us?"

"No my lord."

"I see, call a jumper. I'll send him as a messenger."

5 minutes later, a messenger left town and headed for Robert's army camp.

In a large tent, Robert was eating his fill as his hand fiddled with a servant's ass. A soldier entered hurriedly without permission.

"Your majesty, a messenger has just arrived from Lannisport!"

Robert, who was playing with the servant, dropped the food and left the tent.

Quickly a group of 30 riders left the camp.

On the ramparts, Aslan watched the group approach under the rays of the setting sun. Aslan recognized his father, Robert, Ned, Hoster Tully and Jon Arryn escorted by about twenty knights.

Arrived at about fifty meters from the ramparts, Aslan and the group could look each other in the eyes. Robert was the first to come forward.

"Aslan, my friend! You must know why I am here!"

"Yes Robert, I know that and I will tell you from the start that I refuse to give them to you."

"Why, they have no relation to you!"

"It's true but I have two reasons to protect them, the first and that they have nothing to do with Rhaegar's actions, they are innocent and the second is ... personal."

"... Aslan, you know the consequences of your actions! If you refuse to give them you will have war!"

"Robert doesn't go to war so fast, don't let your emotions follow you."

"I don't care, I will kill anyone who gets in my way!"

"... You know Robert, one day a certain person said a sentence to me. She said to me," A war is only a struggle or pride wins over life. "Thoughtful Robert because if you want war you will have it. "

In Aslan's words, Tywin and Jon were impressed, this wisdom was rare for young men his age.

Ned too was impressed despite not being able to really understand the meaning of this sentence.

As Robert got ready to speak, Tywin stepped forward.

"Aslan, surrender, if you hand over the Targaryens you can continue to rule Lannisport and you will also be the successor to the Lannisters."

Aslan sighed.

"Father ... have you ever thought about who we are?"

Tywin remained silent, he did not understand what his son meant.

"Father, you consider us, your children, as something that strengthens the Lannister family, but you never really thought of us as your children. You want to use us to strengthen the" family "but you use the family."

Tywin remained silent and people like Ned and Jon watched him.

"Father, let me become your next gesture to strengthen the family. After the war, you will want to marry my sister with Robert, will you not? You will marry her knowing that he will never love her and that she will pass her sad and the afflicting life only for the post of queen. "

For the first time since his birth, Aslan saw Tywin shocked.

Ned lowered his head, he was disgusted with Tywin's behavior but he knew that Robert will never love his wife because of his sister. Jon was sad for this type of behavior, he too used interest marriages but at least he took into account the interest of his family.

"You- You have ..."

"Enough father, if you were not my blood and you had raised me carefully I would have left long ago."

Aslan then looked at Robert, Tywin, Hoster Tully and the others and spoke.

"Above all, do not forget your gestures, in a war, do not forget that soldiers are made of blood and flesh like you and they are not numbers."

Aslan looked at them the last time and then he turned around.
