Chương 25: chapter 25 : King without a kingdom
Trystane stood there looking at Bronn's corpse when Jon and the others arrived and they saw each other .
Tyene saw Jon and rushed over to jump on him and kiss him passionately.
He then carried her at arm's length while she didn't want to take her lips off and Jon took her to his room where they began to make love in a very wild way.
Tyene only released him two hours before he was due to leave after he told her the day before that he was leaving the next day. Tyene had asked him to stay but he told her he had other things to do.
She told Jon she loved him and when Jon responded with "Thank you", Tyene tried to slap him before leaving from there angry and frustrated.
Jon, completely lost, remained incomprehensible, he had never asked for anything and it was Tyene who jumped on him every time.
He couldn't even find out in detail what happened with Jaime but he still took the time to talk with Doran and his son before leaving Dorne with a little sadness because he carried this place in his heart.
Oberyn gave him several gifts and he left a little apple liqueur for his friend, telling him that if he drank it to the last drop, the ancient gods would do him the same favor as his brother and his nephew.
He liked Oberyn very much and was determined to make him a mutant, he knew that this man would certainly be the fastest mutant after him because in his normal human state, Oberyn is already an exceptional fighter.
It took Jon three days to return to Eastwatch but to his astonishment, he found a large fleet of unknown ships offshore there.
Jon went to see his uncle Benjen who was the lord captain of the fortress and they told him that Benjen was traveling to Castle Black where the other lord captains and the lord commander were having an important meeting.
Without delay, he took the monorail shuttle which took him to Castle Black where he headed directly to the large meeting hall under the greetings of his brothers and once there, the others made a silence at his entrance.
Jeor: You're good, Captain Commander Stark. And this trip to Essos?
Jon: I had to meet a crazy woman who has three dragons and wanted me to bend the knee for some reason I don't yet know.
Benjen: So?
Jon: I didn't have time to waste with her .
"You…the fire that burns within you is of a power I have never seen before." A pretty redheaded woman dressed in light red clothing approached Jon with shock in her eyes and gently touched his chest.
Jon: Please forgive me ma'am but we know each other?
"Melisandre of Asshai, priestess of the Lord of Light and advisor to King Stannis Baratheon, sole legitimate ruler of the seven kingdoms…" The woman introduced herself in a seductive tone that annoyed Jon more than anything else.
Jon: (Removes her hand) Tell me so much...what brings Stannis here to the Wall?
Davos: It's "King" Stannis, my boy.
Jon: I'm not your boy and he's not my king, please answer my question.
"We have come to help the Starks retake the North against the Boltons and the Lannisters..." Stannis said as he moved closer.
Jon: In exchange for what?
Stannis: I'll make you governor of the North and serve me as your father served my brother Robert.
Jon: Why me? I am a sworn brother of the Night's Watch and we don't interfere in the affairs of the kingdom.
When Jon said that, the others wanted to laugh because they knew he was making fun of Stannis, the Night's Watch was completely independent thanks to him and could do what they wanted.
Stannis: By royal decree I will release you from your vows. Your reputation as a warrior and leader is second to none. The name Jon Stark is not small in the kingdom and Northern Lords will line up behind you.
Jon: Then, I advise you to leave now, I won't follow you. You're wasting your time.
Stannis: Would you rather stay cloistered in these castles while the North bleeds ?!
Jon: You don't understand anything, Lord Stannis. Like you said my name is famous and people will definitely follow me but not as a governor for someone who burns people alive and doesn't give a damn about the North. Yes, we know what you and your witch are doing, human sacrifices. We pray to the old gods here and I'll not be a governor to you but a king to my people. The north doesn't need a governor but it needs to dissociate itself from the rest of the kingdoms, gain its independence and become a kingdom again like in the time of my ancestors.
Stannis: I will hang you for your treachery and what about the night watch-(interrupted)
Jon: One more threat and you will no longer have a head, Lord Stannis. I saw your army outside, it is large but mostly made up of mercenaries and the Night's Watch has more gold than in your most insolent dreams. Just imagine being offered a generous sum to betray you and exterminate you and the others. A mercenary's loyalty goes to the highest bidder, you are a man of war and know it.
Stannis:…
Davos:…
Jon: So? No more threat ? Very well, now that we understand each other and that winter is beginning to fall, we offer you hospitality in one of our abandoned castles, while you face the Boltons.
"Go to hell…" Stannis said before he wanted to leave and Melisandre grabbed his hand.
Melisandre: The boy is useful to the lord of light, my king. He's one of the elements without which we cannot go to the South. As I told you, death is coming to walk on us and it doesn't matter even if you don't win the North, you can still make it an ally.
Stannis:…
Davos: We need allies, majesty.
Tannins: Tell us the forts you spoke of, we will fight together when the time comes to liberate the North and I'll leave for the warm lands, far from this gloomy place.
"This is a good decision dear lord, but the castles of the Night's Watch are more sumptuous than Storm's End. Now drop all your fucking pretensions and shut your arsonist mouths while you are offered hospitality" Jon said making small claps.
Jeor: Captain Commander Jon Stark, do you really want to become King in the North?
Jon: According to the second part of the first law concerning the new reform, I have, as a lord's son, the right to obtain a title if it's granted to me.
Jeor: Do the Lord Captains support this initiative ?
" YES "
" YES "
"YES" The various captains of the 16 occupied fortresses gave their agreement.
Jeor: Maester Aemon?
Aemon: I agree with that, the North needs a king and Jon is without a doubt the best possible candidate.
Listening to all of this, some anger and frustration began to fill Stannis's heart.
Stannis:…
Melisandre: My king?
Stannis: I refuse to fight alongside this arrogant brat. I AM A KING!
Jon: Without a crown...and without a kingdom. You'll not pass without our help, oh great king of the imaginary kingdom. It's already snowing in large quantities and neither your horses nor your mercenaries are used to this climate. You'll die if you try something stupid alone.
Stannis: I am the king chosen by the Lord of light and snow is nothing for me. (to Melisandre) Is there another way?
Melisandre: There is always a way for those who believe in the Lord of light.
"Davos, prepare the horses and men, we are marching South (looks at Jon) we'll pass and your head will roll when I sit on the Iron Throne my boy." Stannis said before leaving with his escort.
" What a moron! This witch makes him completely crazy, It's really sad coming from such an experienced man (shrugs). Well, I thank my brothers for their support..." Jon said smiling to the captains and the lord commander, they organized a banquet for Jon because they knew that this guy was going to become king almost effortlessly if he wanted to.
