Chương 30: Fear of an predator
Early the next morning, the four went to the open valley where the deer were often seen.
Counting this time, Edward had been here three times.
He stood in the grass and carefully observed the terrain.
Although it was a valley, it was a lush grassland that was wide enough for their hunting. There was a chance that in case a group appeared, Roc might miss his shoot, spooking the animals that would eventually scare away the rest of their companions.
That was something absolutely Edward could afford right now!
He found a place without grass and used his feet to smash the stones on the ground and turned towards everyone.
"Look," he picked up a piece of the stone and drew a few pictures on the ground.
"The inside of these two lines is the valley under our feet. Do you understand?"
Several people nodded. Although this method has not been seen, it was simple and clear and could be understood at a glance.
Then Edward places three small stones and laid down next to the first one.
"Roc, you are standing in the same place, this place is the place where we are squatting right now,"
Roc nodded and said: "Brother Light, I understand."
Then Edward turned his face and said: "Debro, you go to the west side of the valley, and then you will just keep going forward. I will tell you to stop when I get in my own position." He put down a stone again.
Finally, he said to everyone: "After the deer come in, I wait to the east side of the valley, to make sure they are all in. Once I scare them, I and Debro would shout, so that the deer would go running around this place, every time a deer turns up in front of Roc, you will shoot the arrows at them, then immediately kneel down, wait for the next opportunity, understood?"
"This... What about this piece?" Night asked about a small piece of stone near Edward's foot.
"It's a stone." As soon as he finished, he couldn't stop, and he laughed out.
"Light, what am I doing?" Night thought that Edward had forgotten her.
But how can Edward not know? He didn't want her to stay in a dangerous place, what if the frightened animal stepped on her?
"Night, after you followed Roc to his position, every time Roc shoots an arrow, I want you to hand him the next arrow."
Night looks at him sharply but he just smiled at her: "This mission is very important! Roc can't waste time reaching for the arrows."
He understood that Night wanted to stay with him.
After the deer hunting plan was completed, when everyone was about to go to their respective ambush sites, they heard the earth began to tremble.
"Hey..."
"What..."
"Oh..." The landing was steady, slow and rhythmic, and the calm and unusual footsteps came from afar. The sand and pebbles on the ground were shaking.
'This... is this an elephant? Mammoth?'
Edward quickly guessed what kind of animal was in his head, just got up and saw what happened.
Edward was immediately dragged down by Night,
"Light it's a saber-toothed tiger!"
The eyes of all three of them showed dread and fright, but his curiosity about this prehistoric animal made Edward eager to find out, he quickly got up and probed his head.
It doesn't matter if you look at it, it almost made him shit his metaphorical pants!
Then there was a huge roar! Even the surrounding air was shaking.
The saber tooth tiger had a height of 2 meters.
'God, such a tall body, its two horrible fangs are like scimitars, mouth bloody and chilling gloomy tiger...'
Edward was trembling!
What bet? What hunting deer? The only thing important right now was that he kept squatting and kept his head down. Looking at his three primitive friends, all their teeth were trembling with fear.
He stuttered and whispered: "I…now…what do we …... do now?"
