Chương 8: The Engagement Party
After arriving at the hotel, Liu Wei called her manager to get some make up artists to help her get ready for tonight's party.
Donning the gorgeous dress she decided to have her hair curled but not too tight, she went for loose curls so as to give it that seductive yet classy look at the same time.
She was ready for tonight, of course she was still a little bit nervous because she didn't know if Lu Han would be able to tell that it was her. Obviously he wouldn't recognize her by her physical traits but more her actions, after all she was married to him for a year.
Regardless if he could tell or not, what proof would he have? After all Liu Wei was already an established model for the past 3 years. What kind of explanation can he derive? Other than perhaps being reminded of someone he used to know.
She was not idle after leaving her family's house. She went and grabbed the engagement gift for her ex husband and his new fiance. It'll be something that he would never expect to receive and she is excited just thinking about the look on his face when he sees it.
As she was lost in thought about the upcoming nights events, a distinct knocking sound jogged her back to reality. She walks over and opens the door and what greeted her sight was a delicious, handsome man dressed to perfection. Shocked, she must have been staring for a bit because the man just gave her a devilishly handsome smirk.
The man was dressed to the nines and he literally took her breath away. He had on an Armani black suit that hugged his body perfectly. He exuded sex appeal to the max. It looked so good on him, that he could actually give male models a run for their money. She had not seen such a good looking specimen in a very long time. He literally looked like he was cut out of a magazine. He had those sinfully mesmerizing gaze that could melt you on the spot.
Liu Wei could not understand why he was still unmarried at this point in his life. I'm sure he has no shortage of women throwing themselves at him every chance he pops out in public. His bank roll is up in the billions he's good looking and is the CEO of a multi million dollar company. What's there not to like? But of course she didn't want to pry into his affairs. She had other more pressing things to tackle than delving into this sinfully gorgeous man's extra curricular activities.
"You clean up quite well" She finally says, still unabashedly appreciating her view.
He just laughs at her candidness, Su Kai was also admiring her openly. He was shocked when the door opened and a goddess was standing in front of him. He loved her ensemble, it was a killer dress that made him want to do naughty things to her. His self control was being put to the test, this woman would be the death of him. Although these thoughts were running through his mind, he was more reserved and didn't betray it on his face.
Her beauty knew no limits, her long locks of black hair was cascading down the right side of her shoulder like waterfalls. When she turned around it just accentuated her sexy back all the more. It was almost painful for him to look at her with out trying to touch her. He felt like a little kid that was in front of a candy store but wasn't allowed to eat any.
"I think after tonight I might have some competition" he says in a hoarse voice.
She beamed at him and asks "Do you really think so? Do you find me pretty?"
"If you only knew what you do to me..." And he just left it at that.
A handsome couple was seen arriving at the Sheng engagement party. At first no one could tell who they were but upon second inspection they realized that it was CEO Su and the "it girl" of the month Liu Wei.
Everyone's curiosity spiked up a notch as they had never seen any woman on CEO Su's arms before. This was a big revelation and a bigger story. How did she of all people capture this big Tycoon and got him to be seen with her in public. As far as everyone new, Liu Wei hasn't been in the country long and there were no past interactions between the two.
Those were one of the many questions popping into the guests minds.
The couple was greeted by Lu Han and his fiancee as well as her parents. Upon seeing Su Kai, Ms Sheng became agitated. She had been in love with Su Kai for many years and had tried different ways to get closer to him but to no avail. Even though she was engaged to Lu Han, there was no love between the two it was purely business.
She had given up on Su Kai because she thought that he would never marry in this life time. But seeing him arriving with Liu Wei and a striking beauty at that, her jealousy went to overdrive. She forgot herself and didn't realized that she was already an engaged woman.
"Who do you think you are?! Holding on to him so tightly~!" She harshly berated Liu Wei.
Liu Wei was a bit taken back at first but instead of getting offended she laughed and jokingly says "Oh Ms. Sheng! if I didn't know any better, I would have guessed that Su Kai was your fiance. As your tone implies that you are uncomfortable with him escorting me to your engagement party... But that couldn't be the case since CEO Han is your true partner."
Embarrassment flitted across Sheng Ziyi's face as well as the receiving party which included her fiance, Lu Han and her parents. To rub salt to her wounds Liu Wei deliberately hugged Su Kai's arm closer and whispered into his ears that only the two of them could hear. But from Sheng Ziyi's point of view she was probably whispering sweat nothings to him and it infuriated her even more that she abruptly turned around and walked away.
Lu Han pretending that he actually cared, made an excuse to leave so he could check up on his fiance. After catching up with Sheng Ziyi, he angrily berates her "Are you trying to make me loose face?! This is our engagement party! I know that you care for CEO Kai but I would appreciate it if you could maintain decorum and not embarrass both parties on this day."
He was so angry, that a dangerous glint fluttered across his face. He wanted nothing more than to choke this woman who embarrassed him in front of CEO Kai. After all he still needed to do business with Su Industries in the future.
He made a beeline to the bar for a drink, as he was sipping on his drink. A woman was calmly sitting there sipping on her martini. "Trouble in paradise already CEO Han?"
He turns and looks at her and a lustful smile spreads across his face. He slides a room key surreptitiously under her hand and says "5 minutes in room 1216..."
An excited gleam could be detected from the woman at the bar... That woman was exactly Xu Yun, Lu Han's long time mistress. She excitedly heads over to the elevator after him. But if she was a bit more cautious she would have noticed a pair of grey blue eyes following their every move...
