Cedric glanced at the dissuading men before glaring at Ethan.
"Are you telling me that the General, who has won many victories on the battlefield, is at a loss when it comes to the small nation of Song? Is there a reason why you cannot go?"
Ethan straightened up when he heard Cedric's taunt.
If he didn't want to go, then he didn't have to go. The cold winters of Song were too harsh for the soldiers of Gideon.
Even though they could face a loss in Song, the Emperor and Cedric were desperate to have Ethan leave the Palace. Additionally, the duke was pretending not to have heard them while silently agreeing.
"I will go."
"Ch-General!"
The protesting nobles were at a loss for words. The Palace would become tumultuous without Ethan.
Having changed his mind, Ethan was at peace.
If his presence was too uncomfortable for everyone, he was willing to fall for their tricks.
