Rose would be gathering up information on the various gods and goddesses to help her new newbie decide which familia to join and getting examples of good contracts.
As for Ryan he headed to the dungeon to kill some goblins on the first floor, he still needed funds to have a place to sleep and food to eat, plus he would have to buy or make the equipment to forge his own ammo. So killing off some goblins was a sure fire way to earn a little bit of money each day. Even if Rose was quite displeased by the action.
~Ryan Pov.~
It took about a quarter of the time to head off and kill 20 or so goblins and fill up my pouch with magic crystals, this time I knew where to look so I didn't have to creep around slowly as the goblins had respawned.
Still a couple thousand valis a day would slowly start to add up provided I didn't go on a spending spree or something. I'll have to ask how much a place to live is.
Once I cashed in my magic crystals ignoring the glare from Rose I head towards the Hephaestus family shop, I need to buy some oil and other items to maintain my blades as I don't want them to wear out quickly.
Walking through the food district I sense a gaze on me. Turning I see a gray haired woman looking at me. "Hello sir, might I interest you in a meal at the hostess of fertility?" The girl asks handing me a flier with various pictures of meals and prices on it.
Honestly they do look delicious but. "Sadly I just arrived in the city and don't have much money saved up right now so I'll have to pass for the time being." I tell her but fold up the paper and tuck it into my pouch.
"Oh? You are new to the city? Which familia do you belong to?" She asks curiously.
"Yep just arrived here yesterday, and I haven't joined any familia yet. I'm still considering my options and reading up on the various familia and contracts so I don't get scammed or wind up with troublesome family." I tell her.
"That's smart of you, oh where are my manners? My name is Syr Flova, a pleasure to meet you." She says with a small curtsy.
"Ryan Grim, anyway I must be going you are probably busy with work. I also need to go and purchase some oil and weapon maintenance items from the Hephaestus family. It was nice meeting you though." I tell the woman politely.
"Certainly, I hope you drop by sometime and enjoy our food." She says with a friendly smile.
"Sure, it all looks pretty delicious. I've just been grabbing snacks from food stalls." I laugh. "Once i have enough saved up I'll come by for a meal. Anyway I've got to go, talk to you later."
Ryan walks off completely missing the absolutely predatory look the girl gave him. Had it contained any form of ill intent he might have caught it but it only contained a single thing. Obsession.
Clueless about all of this Ryan heads towards the Hephaestus shops. Various weapons and armor are on display all over the place, numerous blacksmiths are peddling their wares. Of course Ryan attracted quite a bit of attention with the massive blade on his back, not only because of how big it was but because of how impractical it was.
He finds a shop that specializes in weapon repair.

"Pardon me, do you happen to have oils, whetstone, and tools for sword cleaning available for sale?" I ask the burly man who was sharpening a sword.
"Hmm, not many people have the patience for weapon maintenance, most choose to just use them until they break and then buy a new weapon." The man says stopping his sharpening and heading over to some shelves and grabbing a few clothes, a couple of gray stones and a few other little items such as metal picks to pull flesh out of areas like around the guard.
"I'm rather attached to my equipment and would prefer if it didn't get rusted by blood." I tell the man with a smile.
"Not enchanted huh? That's a bit rare nowadays, most weapons have a basic sharpening enchantment and anti-rusting enchantment on them so they last longer and prevent dulling." The man says with some slight surprise.
"Well this blade is a bit old, I would probably be the 4th person to use it." I pat the buster sword with a grin.
"Family heirloom ey? Understandable. Kids these days don't understand the value of a good weapon, just junk them when they don't cut anymore and abuse them, even enchantments can only go so far." The man nods appreciatively. "How much that thing weigh by the way?" he asks curiously.
"No idea never weighed it, do you have some scales?" I ask curiously.
"Sure do! C'mere." he says walking over to a pair of primitive but reliable scales. "Just put the blade there."
I take the sword off my back and place it on the scale and he starts adding weights.
*Whistle!* "This thing weighs 300 pounds it's also over 6 feet tall from tip to bottom! How can you even swing it?" the man asks with shock. Even I'm shocked I didn't know it weighed that much.
"I dunno it just seemed light to me." I laugh picking it up and swinging it over my shoulder barely feeling any weight. "So how much the cleaning supplies gonna cost me?"
"Ehh let's call it an even hundred for everything, I'll throw in a pouch for it too so you don't get oil on everything." The man says grabbing a leather satchel off one of the shelves and putting everything inside.
I pass him 100 vali. "Much appreciated. Wouldn't happen to know where I can get some clothes at would you?"
