●AR Villa, Chicago●
The atmosphere was unnaturally silent, as if actually grim reaper was hovering over every square corner of the room. The windchime produced the sweet music in the serene and deadly silence, which along with the announcement of the arrival of someone.
"Boss?"
Niall entered into the study room of his master but upon seeing the boss immersed into some deep thought, Niall kept his mouth shut. But his presence went completely unnoticed as Ronan's heart was occupied with numerous thoughts.
By keeping his elbows on the table and fingers interlaced, Ronan Ross felt himself completely drawn to Renna. In the midst of book racks and all confidential detailed documents, Ronan Ross was flooded with numerous emotions.
Anger towards Renna that if she is Amaris then why did she remain hidden from him?
A wave of happiness that finally he had gotten her back but again the possibility remained there, if she is Amaris.
Niall finally called out his boss while standing in the middle of the enormous room and right above him the gigantic golden chandelier, it had golden dragons carved on it attached with golden lights of various sizes.
Such a perfect yet unusual preference but what else one could expect from a mafia king.
Rabbits, huh?
Niall gulped his fear of getting beheaded because that was the consequence of disturbing the mighty lord, well of course, without any important news to state.
The fine brown material of book shelves felt so pleasant to eyes in the lights and elegant, that if someone crazy for books would be left there might go mad soon. Now, even after Niall's arrival the wind chime kept producing fine music which seemed the ticking of his life line before Ronan could react reflexively with his sharp blades and kill him.
'Boss, what had happened to you?'
Niall muddled to himself whether to go back in his rabbit hole or to stay there for a little longer. The music of wind chime became lighter in sound with every second, eventually came to an end.
After coming in Niall realized that his boss had been zoned out and thought that there was no one was in there. The first thing one would notice in the study room would be the bulk of books, of all colors, sizes and shapes, lying everywhere an eye could reach.
Perhaps Ronan Ross had turned the room into a sort of library, or a record room consisting of confidential information, but taking in account the old and ragged covers of various books it would be safer to consider the mere room was a stock of books.
No one knew that whether Ronan had actually read them ever because why else he would keep them?
'I have never seen you in this state boss.'
Niall's eyes were fixed on Ronan as he thought to himself.
'I would never forgive you woman, if anything happened to my master.'
The right hand man sure knew how to protect his boss, he had shared a respectable bond with his master since the beginning.
The inner of the massive room, however, was eye-catching. It was decorated with red curtains on the single window facing outside. One would consider it an odd mystery that what actually made Ronan Ross to transform into a vulnerable state, after all zoning out was definitely not his style and the mighty mafia king had never felt himself insulted to the surroundings.
Strangely carved spacious shelves, with dragons and lion figurines resting on the top above all the four edges of each rack, occupying the whole three walls. An overwhelming and soothing fragrance was lit up through incense sticks in the gigantic room which was calming the troubling mind but did not affect Niall's performance.
It was quite a contrasting picture comparable to the lurking atmosphere, but Ronan's inner monologue was definitely a perfect match.
Niall stepped forward tip toed but sure enough his treacherous shoes betrayed his attempt and he became stunned, a sudden snakey cold chill gave him an icey sweat.
Ronan lifted his eyes and an angry stare penetrated through Niall's 'asking for forgiveness' shivering silhouette.
