Chương 22: A long-awaited matches!

I'm tired and having a little break from my training. I miss Shive already, I don't have anyone to spar with. This huge training ground would be perfect training if Shive still here. I heard a familiar voice, it's my father. That means the meeting is over. My father says,

"I asked one of your friends, where you at. She told me that you're on the training ground. You really don't want to waste your time doing anything at all are you Val? Since we are here, let's have some fun."

I reply,

"I've been waiting for your father. I'll beat you."

My father asked for wooden swords from the guards, they immediately go to grab some. After they brought two swords, they gave one to me and one to my father. For now, a defensive stance is the best option since I don't know my father's strength and skill. He laughed and said that I'm far more different from the last time he saw me. I ready my defensive stance, my father is a Grandmaster, he's good with a sword and his fist. Not that different from Shive, I should be cautious and always thinking the worst possible situation. I can't catch up with his speed, slowly but surely he's attacking my vitals and reducing my strength and movements, my only option is to grab his arms and slam him to the ground again. I managed to grab his arm, but he immediately punched me in the face with his other hand. it doesn't hurt and I released my sword and grab his other arm with my hand, I'm grabbing his arms as tight as I can then jump and knee him on the face but he blocked it with his forehead, and my knee made a cracking sound, I broke my knee. Then he slammed me to the ground and threw me up to the air, and he jumps and did dozens of combos and flew me away and hit the wall. It hurts a lot, I forgot that he's also a Champion, but I can still endure the pain and stand up. My instinct told me to duck, so I duck and suddenly my father punched the wall and made a huge hole, before I could stand up, he elbowed my head and I passed out immediately. When I woke up, Vivi and the others at the training ground. My father approached me and says,

"You are way stronger than most of the people I know around here, but you are too early to fight me, Val. I'm sure in a few years from now, you can beat me easily. That woman from yesterday, you said she is your teacher? Where is she now? I haven't seen her since the morning, I thought I will see you both at the meeting again today."

I reply,

"I will beat you the next time we meet father. Ohh, Miss Shive left the kingdom after the meeting, she doesn't want to lure some attention towards her and go back to her hometown. So today Mister Zee sent his other friends to guard Mister Rorin."

he nods and he is staring at Zee, and he asks me,

"Val, is he stronger than Miss Shive?"

I reply,

"If I remember correctly, yes. He is the strongest from his party members."

My father approached him and says,

"Mister Zee, do you want to have a sparring with me?"

Zee smiles and replies,

"I'm not that strong, Mister Belliot. But if you insist, then I'll accept your request."

My father gave him the wooden sword, and ready his stance. Zee just stood there swinging the wooden sword. Den gave the signal. My father disappeared, but also Zee. I only heard bone-cracking sounds then suddenly my father got thrown away from the above unconscious and hit the ground. Zee jumped down and asked Edith to heal him. As soon as my father woke up, he stood up and was confused. Zee is just smiling at him. Then my father says,

"What a tremendous power. Even if I trained all day for the rest of my life. I still can't beat him. I can say he and his party can destroy a Kingdom in a single night."

I'm not surprised by that, because I know more about them than my father. My father approached him again and says,

"Mister Zee, about your request yesterday. I will try to make an appointment with The King."

Zee replies to him,

"We don't want that anymore, Mister Belliot. We have seen and heard enough."

Zee smiles while leaving. My father is confused with Zee's statement. Then my father left to do his duty as the King's personal guard. Zee told everyone to gather in the ladies' bedroom tonight to hear a report from Secra about the meeting today. We gathered in the ladies' bedroom, Secra told everything. They all agreed to make the army except for Rorin now. Also, they still want Shive to be one of the generals. Our top priority, for now, is Rorin's family, from now on two of us will be guarding their room each night. For tonight it will be Zee and Edith. Everyone else goes to sleep.

3 days have passed, this is our 5th day in Bulark's Kingdom. I trained alone and tried to wield 2 swords and we did 4 B-Grade quests. Our points now are 390, and we haven't done any exploring quest because we have to guard Rorin's family. Tonight will be me and Kiel to guard Rorin's family.

It's time for me and Kiel to guarding Rorin's family, Kiel guarding near the window and I'm guarding at the door. Rorin says,

"Mister Val, I heard your party just got promoted to Tier 3 a few days ago. Congratulations."

His wife and their son also congratulate us. I reply,

"Thank you, Mister and Missus Myord. It was all thanks to you we got enough adventurer points."

Rorin says,

"At first we were doubting you all when Marie recommended your party and Mister Zee's party. But now we are really grateful. We promise to give you all big rewards for this."

Kiel replies,

"Waaa Mister and Missus Myord so mean. Even though we are still 15 years old, our teachers are the best!"

We all are laughing and having a great time. Then Rorin says,

"5 months and our son will be 15, he wants to be an adventurer like you. He got motivated after the incident with the bandit. We don't want him to be an adventurer this soon, so we will enroll him in the academy in Averyne's Kingdom. We heard they are the best Academy. Maybe later we will allow him to be an adventurer after he graduates. I'm hoping when he joined the academy, your party will also join him in the academy and train him to be like you."

I reply,

"That's great, but we are not sure about that. It must be expensive to join the elite academy, and we can't afford that Mister Rorin."

He replies,

"If you all really want to join the academy, we will pay for your expenses and registration fee. We will always be indebted for everything you all did for us."

Kiel and I are laughing nervously, and we will think about it. That's not a bad offer at all but I'll not be going to accept his offer since I don't want to be indebted to him, although I really want to be in an academy with Vivi and Kiel. While we are talking, suddenly Kiel says,

"Someone is approaching, six of them and they are not Zee and his friends. Be careful Val, they're coming soon."

Kiel put a sensor trap near Rorin's room before, so we will know if someone is coming. It's midnight and there is no way someone is walking here for no reason with many people. Kiel cast a manipulation spell, removing the door so nobody can enter the room, and cast space manipulation which is making them walk in circles. Kiel is a talented mage, she becomes scary if it's about magic. Who would have thought that a cute girl can do such unique spells, and she already mastered 6 elements now, with only dark and light elements left? If she can master all 8 elements, she will be the first Elementalist in decades and also the youngest.

2 hours have passed.

Myord family is already asleep. I told them to sleep earlier and we will be in on guard for the whole night. Watching them sleeping with ease, makes me feel proud and happy that they trust their life on me and Kiel. Kiel looks sleepy, so I told her to get some sleep and I will wake her up early in the morning. Then she said goodnight and immediately fell asleep on the couch after I said that. I'm a leader, so I have to be more understanding to my members.
