Chương 18: hidden beauty

Hearing his words Emily couldn't help but feel offended, although she didn't plan to interfere with their conversation but she couldn't just sit and torelate his accusations.

Seeing his angry daughter speaking, Mr Smith got worried he tried to stop her but she assured him that she was okay but her eyes still showed her discomfort Mr Smith didn't know that Emily didn't want to appear weak in front of the man who shamelessly insult her and her father.

"What are you saying miss Smith? Richard does not mean it that way, don't think about what he said he was just blabbering" Mrs Brown said trying to ease the tension caused by her stupid son. She seem to understand her son's intention to ruin this union not sure why but whatever the reason she didn't want their family to get in trouble again.

"Of course not Mrs Brown anyone can have their own opinion about me, he is just one who had the courage to voice it out his thoughts ..am I right?" She said coldly as she noticed their curious gazes eversince they saw her, it was clear they were thinking the same as Richard only they were not courageous to voice out their thoughts or maybe smart enough not to say anything unlike their stupid son.

Emily then looked at Leon who was extremely quiet before returning her gaze to the man who had caused all of this.

"So Mr Brown how can I clear your doubt about me and my father mmmh!!"she said calmlyly looking at him in the eyes coldly making the man gulp nervously, this woman was sure scary like her father but still he was determined to ruin everything good about her he didn't care about the consequences at all.

" Why don't you start by taking off your mask first.. mmmh!!"Richard suggested mischievously smirking at her, earning an angry threat from the two men

" Richard what are you saying!" Mr Brown asked angrily.

"HOW DARE YOU!!" Mr Smith said furiously almost getting up from his seat making everyone shivering by his cold expression he seem like an angry predator ready to devour his prey.

But Emily was so composed compare to how everyone expected her to be, her face was something sensitive to her and for so many years she refused to show her bare face to anyone and the last time someone forced to look at her she freaked out almost hurting herself.

Thinking about this Mr Smith became even more furious but his daughter stopped him, gesturing that she was fine seeing his daughter very calm he composed himself but still he continued looking at the boy with deadly glare.

"So if I take my mask off will it be enough to clear your doubt about me and my father?" She asked him calmly maintaining her posture sitting elegantly despite the turmoil inside her, Leon knew this calmness was just a facade she was trembling from inside even her hands couldn't hide that.

Hearing what she said Leon looked at her worriedly and said.

" Emilia you don't have to do this if you are not comfortable with it, just forget about what he said"Leon said looking at Emilia who turn to look at him with a faint dejected smile hidden on her face mask and said to him.

"No Leon your brother just question our dignity it okay if he insulted me but not my father" she said softly but determination was visible on her face, leaving puzzled Leon Emily looked at Richard who was enjoying all the show he seem to like his masterpiece.

" So what do you say Mr Brown?" She asked again this time more seriously. Hearing her words Richard smirked.

"Yes if you take that mask off, it will not only clear my doubt but also I will apologize for the trouble I caused so far, but if you fail to take off your mask you should stay away from my brother" Richard said making his father almost faint with blood pressure he almost had heart attack what was his stupid son thinking? why can't he see the grave danger he was putting them in right now.

" Deal, then it settled" Emilia said as she stood up slowly brought her hand behind her head to untie the knot that held her mask in place.

Everyone was looking at her every action carefully, noticing her shaking hands Richard smiled lightly enjoying the show, Emilia stopped midway not completely

taking off her mask as cold sweat appear on her forehead she looked at his worried father then to her soon to be fiance who shook his head insisting her not to do it, but...

no! she has to do it if not for this then for herself if she wanted to get rid of her problems then why not start with this? but before she got rid of her mask she heard the man's mocking voice that instantly made her brave herself, I can do it!. she encourage herself.

" Why aren't you taking it off? ..are you afraid that we will get scared.. don't worry we won't scream" Richard said laughing lightly at her hesitation.

Emilia kept looking at Leon who was opposite to her ignoring Richard's stupid words who was sitting two seat away from her .

"Are you sure about that Mr Brown" Emilia said confidently after getting rid of her fears, she had already taken off her mask and turn to look at him.

She was so beautiful no! she was very beautiful that what he thought immediately after seeing her bare face in front of him,

she had faced him so he could see her and indeed her beauty was bewitching, the more he looked at her the more he was drown into her beauty and

If he thought she was able bring him alive again now he was sure, for a moment there he felt it, he was coming back to life as he felt quite uncomfortable down his lower abdomen, shaking his dirty thought he resume looking at her. Is she for real?.

Everyone was surprised by this revelation Richard became speechless, right now if someone told him what he wanted to do the most, he would say go back to two weeks ago and make her his again damn! She is so beautiful not just her face but looking at her close by everything about her was surely attractive, why was he so stupid not to realize that, he blamed himself for no avail.

It too late now but no! who said it was too late that brother of his was problematic after all, she will soon realize that and leave him, yes! and once she did he will take her back, he smiled inwardly thinking about that possibility.

"So Mr Brown are you satisfied now if yes then I hope you won't forget your promise" Emilia said coldly before storming out of that place leaving her mask behind, she looked like she would break down any moment but didn't want to appear weak in front of everyone,

seeing her leaving like that everyone got worried especially Mr Smith who was not sure what to do,

seeing that Leon decided to follow her but before he left his hand got held by Mr Smith who was very worried about his daughter.

" My daughter please take care of her!!" He said more like pleading, the man was worried for his only daughter and the most precious to him.

"You can trust me Mr Smith" Leon said seriously before running after her.
