Sakata Norio was somewhat disappointed, but then he consoled himself, thinking, "Isn't it nothing unusual for people not to know everything about each other, or for gods not to recognize each other?"
People always try to understand the actions of the gods in terms of their own image and thoughts, a tendency that has existed since ancient times.
With this thought in mind, Sakata Norio felt it necessary to be the messenger of the gods and speak on behalf of his own deities. The idea filled him with a sense of importance, and he thought to himself that it was a great task unmatched by predecessors or successors.
He did not know that people in the West had already begun this work, only that, in their case, someone acted as the intermediary between God and the common people.
Feeling a divine sense of mission, Sakata Norio was slightly exhilarated as he said, "Since Mr. Minamoto no Yoriyoshi is a war god, his son is naturally the son of a war god."
