A youth with extraordinary looks that should only belong to the gods sat on the grass, leaning his body against a tree while holding a book up to his face.
This was a normal sight to the people of Broken Sky Kingdom. This youth was named August Cloud and he was adopted the son of the the king of Broken Sky Kingdom, King White.
16 years a maid servant of the royal family was out wandering around and found him near the edge of the forest. When she brought him back the king took him in as an adopted son.
With such extraordinary looks many people thought that he would be extraordinary in sorcery as well but he was now 16 with no trace of elemental energy while most people began practicing sorcery before the age of 14.
When people saw him they could only shake their heads sigh, thinking to themselves "Such extraordinary looks wasted on a piece of trash."
"I need to talk to you." A voice suddenly echoed in August brain causing him to be startled before coming back to his senses.
Standing up from the ground, August patted the dirt off of his butt and tucked his book under his arm before turning and heading back towards the castle.
He paid no mind to all the people who looked at him with ridiculing gazes or those of pity. He had got used to these looks and the last couple of years.
He quickly returned to the palace and went straight to the king's chamber where his father was waiting for him.
As he was about to walk through the door a youth who was roughly the same age as him walked out. This youth didn't even spare him a glance but made sure to bump him while walking past. This youth was none other than Alexander White. The legitimate son of the king.
August didn't take the bump to heart as he continued through the door.
Walking though he saw a middle aged man with above average looks sitting by the window. "What may father need me for?" Called out August.
The king didn't even turn around to look at August. His gaze remained fixed on staring out the window.
"August, Have you ever wondered about your real family?"
August was slightly taken back. In the 16 years that he had been here, there had never been a mention of his real family.
"To be honest with you father, I do think of my real family from time to time. I have so many questions for them. I often wonder what they are like or what they're doing now but I fear these questions will never have answers." answered August, his voice somewhat shaky.
"Sigh" The king stood up and walked over to face August. This boy had been raised by him his entire life but wasn't his real son. It's normal for him to have such questions. It would be weird if he didn't.
"Have you ever wondered how I knew your name?" The king asked.
August was flabbergasted. He had never thought about it until now but just how did the king know his real name if he was found all alone. He had always assumed that the king came up with it himself but from his question that didn't seem to be the case.
"Are you telling me that you talked to someone from my real family?" August asked while trying to contain the excitement in his voice.
A weary smile formed on the king's face as he shook his head.
"No. I never talked to anyone in your family but when we found you, there was an information spell left with you. Contained within was your name. Where you are from and a message."
Hearing this August's heart started beating at an extremely fast rate as he could barely contain his excitement. This was his first time receiving any type of information from his blood related family. He shook his head indicating for the king to continue.
"Your name was recorded as August Cloud which you already know. Your birth place was recorded as Supreme Cloud Kingdom of the 7th Sky. And the message read as this 'The Everlasting Crown remains unclaimed as it waits you above the skies. Gods and demons are nothing but stepping stones for the fated one to rise.'" The king stopped talking after saying this.
August didn't know what to think. What was this so called 7th sky. What did this message mean. His head was completely jumbled as he didn't know what to make out of this. As he was thinking about all this information the king pulled out an object. Upon closer inspection the object was a staff. This staff was about 5 feet long and had a black luster to it.
"This was also left with you." The king said as he passed August the staff.
As soon as the king let go of the staff, August immediately dropped it due to being unable to bare its weight.
"Hahahaha , I forgot to mention that it's extremely heavy. I tried to find information on the material that was used to make it but no one had any clue." The king couldn't help but laugh as he watched August struggle with the staff.
August bid farewell to the king and picked up the staff with much effort as left the king's chamber and headed towards his courtyard.
Upon returning to his courtyard he began to ponder while examining the staff.
Just what did all that mean? Who left him here? What is the 7th sky? And what the hell is the everlasting crown?
He had no way to get answers at this current time so he cast all those questions aside for the time being.
He determined that his first course of action should be to enhance his physical body so he could actually use the staff.
From that day on he had developed a workout routine. In the morning he would run and in the evening he train his strength by lifting heavy rocks. He also went to the library and took out a basic staff technique manual and practiced using a regular staff at night after he had finished he strength training.
Like this six months went by. During these six months August rarely left his courtyard. He was summoned by the King once, where the king informed him of an upcoming disciple exam for sorcerers at the prestigious Divine Wind academy. The king knew that he wasn't a sorcerer and that he wasn't really interested in sorcery but he still asked him to accompany his adoptive brother and sister there because they would be taking the exam and it would be good to accompany them for experience.
August agreed to go. To be honest he had recently developed interest in becoming a sorcerer after he read a bunch of books about them and found out how strong they were. He knew that strength was the only way to figure out the answers to all his questions. So after years of declining to practice sorcery, he had finally grew interested in it.
Noticable changes had occurred to his body during this six months. It's original delicate and skinny appearance had long since vanished. His muscles were now clearly defined his extraordinary youthful face now contained a hint of manliness to it.
He had now graduated from a regular staff to the staff that was left for him. It was still heavy to him but it wasn't unbearable. He decided to name that staff Black Ink Immovable staff.
He had practice the basic staff movements so much souring these past six months did you could say he was a basic staff master.
The current him was practicing in his courtyard when he heard clapping from the entrance way.
"Senior brother I'm impressed. Who knew your delicate self could become so fierce." The sweet voice of an innocent girl filled the courtyard.
Hearing this voice August could help to smile before putting down his staff and turning toward the source of the voice.
"Junior sister please don't tease me. I'm far from being a as fierce as you. I recently heard that you have broken through into the profound realm of sorcery. Congratulations." August said with a beaming smile. This girl was the daughter of the king. His adoptive sister, Olivia White.
"There's no need to congratulate me. Maybe you to would be at the profound realm by now if you had chose to practice sorcery." Olivia responded with a light smile.
The two of them had always got along well but the same could not be said about August and her brother Alexander.
August just smiled and shook his head. Before he had no entrance in sorcery but now he intended to start. He just need to find his starting point.
"I just came to remind you that we'll be leaving for Divine Wind Academy tomorrow morning, so make sure you get a good nights rest." After that Olivia turned and walked away.
August was left standing there in the middle of his courtyard. He picked up his staff and looked up at the stars. A thought couldn't help but arise in his mind at this time. What exactly is the Everlasting Crown?
