I had started brewing the coffee just as Ethan woke up. My head rested in my hands as he walked past to go brush his teeth close to the river then when he was done he threw himself on the chair opposite me. "And what has gotten into you?" he laughed. 

I had changed from my pyjamas to warmer clothes after I had gone to the cabin to take a shower. My hair was still slightly wet and at one point I feared it would freeze to my scalp if it was not for the beanie I was wearing. 

"It's nothing," I sighed then slipped my phone back in my pocket. Out of revenge Malia had sent me pictures of her outfit from the party followed by a middle finger emoji and when I tried to call her she had blocked me. It was like she was getting more and more difficult day by day. 

The pregnancy had made her have a spine of steel and she was not afraid to tell me off. 

"The girlfriend," he teased before he tsked, "This is why I stay away from women."
