Fortunately, Dylan seemed just as enthusiastic. “Tomorrow evening then?”
“I can’t make promises, Dylan, but as long as there is no emergency or any new development in relation to this current case, I definitely want to go on another date with you tomorrow.”
“Cool.”
He then focused on driving Dylan home safely. He was a little startled when the witch placed a hand on his thigh and left it there. Giddy inside, he refrained from shaking with excitement. Instead, he held Dylan’s hand tightly. They remained like that for the rest of the journey. He wished the drive could last for hours, but the reality was that it took them less than twenty minutes. It was, nonetheless, one of the best twenty minutes of his existence. He parked the car next to the curb and switched off the engine before turning toward Dylan, who had been sitting quietly next to him.
“So, I’m home.”
“Yeah.”
“Yup.”
“Uh-huh.”
“So…”
“Dylan, may I kiss you good night?” he blurted out and winced.
