Chương 2: Chapter 2:Awakened in Darkness

The oppressive atmosphere in the cave thickened, and the glowing symbols pulsed in sync with Eric's heartbeat. The presence was stronger now, closer, and Eric could feel the weight of it pressing down on him. His legs trembled as he took a step back, his eyes darting toward the deepest part of the cave where the shadows seemed to shift unnaturally.

The grinding noise from the darkness grew louder, the sound of something large and heavy dragging itself across the stone. Then, from the shadows, it emerged.

From the depths of the cave, where the darkness was thickest, a figure began to materialize. At first, it was a mere shadow, shifting and coalescing within the glow of the ancient symbols. But slowly, the form became more distinct, more real, until Eric could make out its features with a sickening clarity.

At first, all Eric could see were the glowing symbols—the same strange markings that lined the cave walls—etched into the creature's pale, alabaster skin. They glowed a soft, eerie blue, casting the creature's muscular body in an otherworldly light. His skin, almost translucent in the dimness of the cave, was smooth but unnervingly pale, as if it had never known the warmth of the sun.

He was massive, towering over Eric, his form both terrifying and mesmerizing. His arms and legs were thick with muscle, yet there was a grace to the way he moved, even as his enormous black claws scraped against the stone floor. His horns, sharp and curved like a ram's, jutted out from his forehead, framing his face. They gleamed like polished obsidian, the sharp points catching what little light there was in the cave.

Its eyes were the most striking. Black as the void, with irises that burned a deep, blood-red. They pierced through the darkness, locking onto Eric with a predatory gaze. There was something unsettlingly human about them, yet completely devoid of empathy or warmth. The creature's face was sharp, angular, almost beautiful in a grotesque, otherworldly way, its white hair cascading down its broad shoulders.

Horns spiraled from its forehead, jet black and smooth, curving backward like a crown of pure malice. They gave the creature an even more imposing presence, as if it was some forgotten deity of darkness, woken from a millennia-long slumber.

It was completely naked, its muscular form rippling with a strength that defied nature. Its hands ended in long, claw-like fingers, each one sharp enough to carve through stone, and they twitched as if yearning to tear something apart. The glowing symbols on its chest and arms seemed to move slightly, almost alive, like the very essence of the creature's power was woven into its skin.

Eric was paralyzed, unable to look away from the entity as it took slow, deliberate steps toward him. The air around it seemed to hum with energy, an oppressive force that made it hard for Eric to breathe. His mouth went dry as the creature stopped just a few feet in front of him, its gaze never wavering.

It tilted its head slightly, as if examining him, its nostrils flaring as though it could smell the fear rolling off him in waves. A low, rumbling growl emanated from its chest, and when it spoke again, the words seemed to shake the very ground beneath them.

"You... awakened me."

Its voice was no longer the ancient rasp that had first filled the cave. Now, it was clear, deep, and filled with a power that made Eric's bones ache. The creature's red eyes gleamed with something between curiosity and hunger, and it reached out, extending one clawed hand toward him.

Eric's body refused to move. He wanted to run, to scream, to do anything but stand there like prey, but it was as if the creature had him under a spell, holding him in place with nothing but its presence.

The creature's clawed hand hovered just above Eric's chest, and for a moment, everything seemed to stop. The air, the cave, the very world outside—all of it paused as the entity regarded him, its expression unreadable. Then, it withdrew its hand slowly, its gaze lingering on Eric's face as it took a step back.

"Blood... power...Who are you?" it murmured, more to itself than to Eric, as if contemplating what it had found.

Eric finally sucked in a breath, his chest heaving as he staggered back, putting more distance between himself and the creature. He could feel the weight of its gaze, the primal, terrifying energy that radiated from it. This thing was no mere being. It was something far older, far darker than anything Eric could have ever imagined.

The air in the cave grew heavier, thick with the scent of earth and decay. The creature's nostrils flared, and his glowing red eyes narrowed as he focused entirely on Eric. There was no mercy in those eyes, no trace of humanity—.

The creature raised one massive clawed hand, reaching toward Eric again ,who stood paralyzed, barely able to breathe. His mouth moved, but no words came out. The glowing symbols on the creature's body flared brighter for a moment, and a guttural sound escaped from its throat, the remnants of whatever language it had spoken before. It was like a whisper of ancient power, but even as the creature extended its reach, something changed.

Suddenly, the creature's body shuddered. The glowing symbols flickered, their once steady rhythm faltering, as though something was interfering with the power that flowed through him. His claws stopped inches from Eric's throat, and the creature's face contorted in pain, his eyes dimming slightly as his body seemed to sag under an invisible weight.

Eric, still frozen in place, watched in disbelief as the creature's massive frame trembled, his muscles twitching violently. The growl in his throat became a deep, strained groan, and his claws retracted slowly. The glowing light on his body dimmed further, and the symbols that had once seemed so alive began to fade.

The creature took a staggering step backward, his breathing ragged and uneven. His eyes, still burning with that unnatural red light, flickered weakly, as if the energy keeping him conscious was slipping away.

"W-what have you done."

His knees buckled, and with a final, strained gasp, the creature collapsed onto the stone floor, the cave shaking slightly with the force of his fall.

The silence that followed was deafening. Eric stood motionless, his chest heaving as he finally sucked in a deep breath. His mind raced, trying to comprehend what had just happened. The creature lay sprawled out before him, unconscious but still alive, the faint glow of the symbols on his body the only indication of his continued existence.

The overwhelming sense of danger had passed, but Eric knew it wasn't over. Whatever this creature was, it had been awakened by his blood, and now it lay at his feet, its immense power momentarily subdued.

Eric took a step back, his heart still racing. The hunger gnawed at him, but it was overshadowed by the fear and uncertainty of what lay before him. He had never encountered anything like this, and he wasn't sure what would happen when the creature woke again.

But one thing was certain—he couldn't stay in the cave much longer.

Eric's breath caught in his throat as he watched the creature's enormous body lie still on the cave floor. The weight of its presence, though diminished, still held an ominous air. Eric stepped back, eyes wide, unwilling to move closer but unable to look away.

Then, without warning, the symbols etched across the creature's skin began to glow once again—this time, with a softer, more rhythmic pulse. The air around them seemed to hum, charged with a kind of static energy that prickled against Eric's skin. He could feel it in his bones, a deep resonance, as though the very earth itself was responding to this being's presence.

Slowly, the transformation began.

The creature's massive form started to shrink, his hulking, beast-like figure collapsing inward as if the energy that had once fueled him was being siphoned away. His thick, muscular limbs became more defined, his broad chest narrowing slightly. The overwhelming monstrosity of his size lessened with each passing moment, his towering frame reducing, appearing to be the same height as Eric—no longer as towering or monstrous.

His skin, still that unnerving bone-white pale, retained an otherworldly smoothness. It gleamed under the faint light of the cave's glowing symbols, almost too perfect, too untouched by time or the elements. The glow of his tattoos dimmed as they settled, no longer shifting across his body like living things, but now etched in place, their patterns intricate and mesmerizing.

As the transformation continued, his once beast-like features softened into something more human yet still unmistakably ethereal. His long white hair, which had been tangled and wild during his monstrous form, now draped down his back like a silken curtain. The strands gleamed like silver in the dim cave light, falling in smooth waves that contrasted starkly against his alabaster skin. They reached past his shoulders, almost to the middle of his back, moving gently with each breath he took.

His face—once animalistic and fierce—was now strikingly beautiful, in a haunting, otherworldly way. Sharp cheekbones framed his face, and his jawline was strong and defined, giving him an almost statuesque appearance. His lips, pale but full, parted slightly as if he were tasting the air, and a faint mist escaped from his mouth with each slow exhale.

Eric stood several feet away, transfixed. He had read countless stories of creatures he never believed e

xisted until his own turning, but he had no idea what that thing was.
