Suddenly everything went dark like a never-ending abyss, falling right from the cliff into a murky dark mindless pool that knew no depth.
Her bones quaked in her whole body, frail weak… It felt like she was thrown into the dark sea and she was drifting… Going further and further away, almost lifeless.
She tried to move, but couldn't get herself into the right position and suddenly…
*Splash!!*
The pain which speared through her body was so intense. It felt like her body was burning, her lungs full of sharp pains. It was hard.
Her body was on fire, heat surrounded her even though her surroundings were cold.
And even when she screamed, she ended up gulping in a mouthful of water.
The headache gnawed fiercely through her brain, like sharp rusty teeth, her body ached and her heart thumped at an incredulous speed.
She could feel herself losing grip of her consciousness, more like her soul was taking a sharp bolt for freedom.
Her act of benignity only landed her, to her early death, all because she tried to break apart a fight that would cause division in her family.
Was this really the end? She had so many dreams while growing up to this stage,
Her life couldn't possibly end like this, could it?
Her body jerked under water as her heartbeat slowed in a deteriorating manner.
Her subconscious mind was encompassed with nothing but darkness, completely pitch-black but suddenly a ray of light momentarily shunned out of the blue.
The light! It was almost blinding!
Anxi's eyes impulsively flung open as she hurriedly sat up on the king-sized bed, panting heavily as her eyes strenuously tried to re-adjust to the blinding light in the room.
"I... I'm alive?!!" She stuttered, almost in disbelief as she gazed miraculously at her fair white palms as if trying to convince herself it really wasn't a dream.
Sure, she's fair but the hands she was staring at were as white as snow, flawless and clearly they did not belong to her.
Her whole body felt like it was a wrecking ball. There was not a single spot that did not hurt but she remained oblivious to her painful predicament as she had more issues to worry about at the moment.
Amidst her thoughts, she finally noticed her environment, she was still on the bed, covered with a white sheet.
The red duvet draped over her and to her dismay, she was dressed in a red sexy nightdress that literally exposed her white thighs as she stole a peek under the duvet.
"What the...?!"
How was this possible? How did she even get here?
If her memories aren't deceiving her, she had been accidentally pushed into the large ocean and was almost losing grip of her consciousness but suddenly woke up in what looked like a hotel room.
Her mind was a muffled mess and the situation that she unexpectedly found herself in, didn't make any sense at all.
Slowly moving both legs from the mattress, she draped it to the side of the bed before getting up to her feet.
Her legs were a bit wobbly the minute she tried rising up and she had to relax a bit before continuing her task of getting up.
Was this some kind of weird dream that people partook in when they died?
Studying the spacious room she found herself in, Anxi couldn't help but stare in admiration.
The walls were smooth and white as alabaster, which made her gently run her delicate fingers over them to feel their texture.
Her eyes crossed to the exquisite furniture and the glass table in front, an empty wine glass was placed on it but she didn't pay attention to that.
A huge glass window ran from the ceiling to the floor. The cotton was red, crimson in its lustrous color as the breezy wind blew gently on it.
It felt silky under her touch and she inadvertently opened the cotton only to be met by the city's dazzling night sky, covered in blankets of stars, the moon glowing in its silver light, gracefully showing off its appealing sight, yet nothing looked or seemed familiar at all.
"Where am I?"
Anxi wasn't caught up in all of this, her head throbbed painfully and as she hastily turned to figure out what was happening...
She wasn't emotionally ready for what was to come as her caramel brown eyes landed in the mirror.
Her eyes dilated in absolute shock as she gazed skeptically at the person in the mirror she stumbled backwards.
"Is...is that me?!!" Screaming out into her mind.
She immediately shook her head in skepticism. 'No, no, that can't be me.' she undisputedly convinced herself.
If she remembered clearly, she didn't look this winsome, the lady she was dubiously staring at, had skin that was similar to the whiteness of snow, glabrous, soft and embellished.
Her chestnut brown hair, sweeping smoothly past her back to her waist, Anxi slowly reached for her face to fill the softness of her skin. She looked doe-eyed and her small heart-shaped lips were pink, reminding one of a fuchsia.
She had a Lilliputian figure and an equally curvaceous body, nearly in contrast to how she looked before. "B...but how?!"
'Or is this..'
She dimmed her eyes a fraction. "No." She instantly laughed the thought away.
Reincarnation as well as transmigration were only ever possible in stories but absolutely not in real life.
"There has to be a mistake somewhere."
Or maybe she's missing something, it's probably one of her childish illusions. That should explain it.
Her thoughts were immediately disrupted when the door slowly creaked open behind her, grabbing her attention.
Her heart jumped in response as she cautiously backed away the moment she sensed someone's presence, it's not like she knew who it was but the air around the room went still and chilly.
A young-looking lad casually stepped into the room, closing the door behind him and taking the first initiative to lock it, not for once did he turn to look at her.
Anxi swallowed hard, unsure of what was happening as she watched the strange being lock the door. Who was he and who gave him the right to lock the door??
"Why... Why are you locking the door?" The words finally escaped from her lips but as a whisper due to the sudden lump she felt in her throat.
Keeping her apprehensive gaze locked on him, he let out an exasperated sigh, as her words annoyed him.
"We don't want people walking in on us now do we?" His cool, low pitched voice resonated imperturbable in the quiet room.
Although he faced the door, Anxi could sense the crafty smirk forming on his lips. She wasn't enough dumb to not realize what he meant and immediately shook her head.
"You're mistaken, probably you're in the wrong room Mr." She politely said, maybe he was drunk and walked into the wrong room but he doesn't seem physically drunk.
Slowly turning around to meet her gaze, Anxi found herself staring at the attractive being in front of her. Her eyes dilated in wonder as her lashes slowly raked over him.
His impressive physique made her blink in admiration, he looked tall and was undeniably attractive but what left her a bit puzzled was the mask that partially covered his face but left his dark crystal eyes visible, it was like a spell which one would fall prey to by staring for even a minute.
"You...you.."
The words she wanted to say could barely escape from her lips when he leaned against the door giving a devil-may-care outlook, resting his back against it, boringly brushing his hands through his dark hair while the other remained in his trouser pocket.
"Let's just get this over with."
He unhurriedly started to unbutton his shirt, making Anxi avert her gaze, covering both eyes with her palm as she swiftly turned away from him.
"What are you doing??" She questioned in disbelief or maybe she was misinterpreting the situation herself.

Xander gazed at her blankly, a bit stunned by her innocent act but his icy gaze remained intact.
Why is she acting like this?? That idiot Damian didn't inform him the girl he arranged for him was this naive.
"What are you doing?" He questioned back, already feeling irked. "I don't have time to deal with your pretense, get on the bed."
