Who was he even kidding? He was crazy, or at least he was on the path of becoming one.
Three days later, before his awesome plan could bear the fruit that Nicolai wanted, he was lurking by the entrance of the apartment building where Ari was living currently, at four thirty in the f*cking morning. And he did not do early mornings.
That should be enough to show how crazy he was going at the moment if the fact that he spent three f*cking days stalking the woman with whom he had no relation while acting like the wannabe number-one detective of the city, did not.
Believe him, Nicolai had no intention of waking up so early and that to pace around the entrance of the apartment like a f*cking creep. But he couldn't stop himself, he had always been an act first and think later kind of person. So when his heart told him that he wanted to see Ari, he put his mind on hold and came looking for her.
He wanted to know what made Ari different from the rest of the women that he f*cked for his mind and heart to be so deeply attracted —— not affected by her. As for why he woke up so early? He may or may not have visited Ari's social site page and saw all the stories that she posted on her account.
It was a damn good thing that her family and Noah never followed her because there was a chance that they might have found her before he could.
Anyway, Ari like every other perfect wife woke up at four in the morning, prepared her breakfast and then went on a small walk with her pet dog, Timmy.
F*cking preppy socialite. Everything about her social media page told him that she was not the kind of woman he wanted, she was too proper and sweet. Not at all like those wild women whom he could have no strings attached to.
Ari seemed like a woman who would ask for a twenty-four-carat diamond ring before letting him touch her hand, and yet, his curiosity and that f*cking bug that seemed to have crawled inside his chest the day when he saw Ari for the first time told him that he needed to take another look at her.
"I am only here to prove to those bastards that I am not f*cking obsessed," Nicolai breathed out as he rubbed his hands on his knees.
So here he was, waiting like a crazy fan, waiting for Ari to come out of the apartment building.
Sure enough, he saw a golden mutt with a red leash tied around his neck walk out of the small door within the big iron one. Behind him was, Ariana and——
Nicolai whistled inwardly, he had thought that she would be dressed in one of those preppy sundresses or long ones that she usually wore. At least he had only seen her wear those baggy, unflattering dresses when she was accompanying her husband, in those boring banquets.
However, Ari seemed to have surpassed herself. She was dressed in a tight sports bra and shorts that clung to her body like a second skin. He had thought that the woman was one of those sweet and gentlewomen who bored the f*ck out of his mind, but as he looked at the flattering ab line and muscles that Ari had hidden underneath those baggy dresses proved him wrong.
This woman was slender and lithe, unlike those socialites who were terrified of even lifting the lightest weight as they were afraid to gain muscles.
She was f*cking hot and even if she was married and had a husband for the moment was not enough to change his mind.
He studied her for a little more and sighed. If only she hadn't tied her hair in a ponytail, then she would look even more sensual.
He loved his women when they let their hair down, it gave him a better grip while doing a lot of things.
However, his thoughts came to a sudden halt when he realized that he had categorized Ari Nelson as his woman. She was not his woman! Damn it, was he so high on sleepiness that his thought process had been f*cked up?
"Damn, is she a dark witch?" Nicolai muttered while nibbling on his thumb as he crouched behind a bush. If she was not a witch, how was he going to explain the things that were happening to him?
"She must be a witch," Nicolai affirmed his guess as he looked at Ari. Because only witches and those who praised the devil would wake up so early in the morning when even the sun was not up.
Waking up, so early, what was the point? Was the bed not comfy enough? If so, he was willing to lend his——
Stop. Halt. Pause!
Nicolai slapped his face with both of his hands to wake himself up. He had to be asleep damn it, if not, what was he doing? Thinking of lending a married woman his bed? His mother would skin him alive if she knew.
They might be mafias, but his mother drilled a lesson long ago in his head and that was to never cheat on anyone.
All because of his father.
"Blegh, I was reminded of something nasty…" Nicolai gagged as he stood up from his hiding spot and then crept behind Ari, who was snapping a picture of her pet dog. Of course, having her life centred around taking care of pets, house, and family… it went well with her perfect image as a proper loving wife.
Double blegh.
He took out his phone from the pockets of his pants and sure enough, as he peeped at her account he followed through a dummy account. And sure enough, he found the image of Timmy with his tongue lolling out in a cutesy pose with a hashtag that said
#LoveLaughLive.
"F*cking boring," Nicolai remarked as this was the fourth day of her using the same hashtag as if anything different scared the living day out of her.
Not to mention, this hashtag was like a gazillion years old.
She could have used something as something wild …but no, she had to use this boring hashtag like a f*cking chant.
However, now that he was here, he was going to start by changing this boring lifestyle. Because he was known to wreck life. Or lives.
