"Dinner?" I raised my eyebrows at the sexy dude who stood right before me.
"Why?" I asked.
Okay, maybe I was a little defensive but it was out of the blue.
"Well…I’ve noticed you but I've been too shy to walk up to you. I mean-" he chuckled before moving his hands in the distance between us.
"Look at me and then...there's you" I narrowed my eyes at him, still suspicious.
"Fine...call me" I told him and walked off, straight into my office.
Suspiciously, three good things had happened today. All three happened in a space of eight hours.
I got a bonus from Rosaline, a $2000 bonus. Cashmere Cassandra was absent today and this really cute French looking guy asked me out.
"Could this day get any better?" I hummed a tune to myself as I sat in my chair and packed to go home, mentally contemplating what to cook.
My phone rang from my bag and I rolled my eyes, knowing it was probably Samuel.
I shoved my laptop into the bag which already felt heavy with the enveloped money.
I walked out of the office after turning off all the lights. I strutted out of the building, feeling light on my feet.
"Maybe it isn't healthy, Sam" I told him over the phone, my eyes glued to the screen of the TV watching an episode of Empire that I missed.
"It was an honest mistake, Aduke. I swear"
"The same thing you do every time...don't come here" I told him.
"You can't make me cancel my plans, Aduke" he scoffed.
"I'm not canceling your plans...all I'm saying is that-" I heard the keys jiggle at the door and Eros entered in a dark blue suit.
"Hey" he greeted and dropped his suitcase on the chair before sitting beside me.
"Hi" I told him before tearing my eyes away from his athletic build.
"Who was that?"
"Mind your business, idiot. As I was saying, do not visit me." I told him and heard him exhale.
"Yes ma'am"
"Good. I'll talk to you later" he was looking at me and it was unnerving as fuck.
"Wai-" I hung up and turned to Eros.
"Yes?" He nodded before using his thumb to wipe his lower lip.
"I want to apologize for what I said, last night" he licked his lips and I nodded
"Its fine"
"No, no its not. Let me make it up to you"
"Um no…thanks" I drawled out for him in case he didn’t understand. His face fell and I looked away, continuing my TV series.
"Why don't I make dinner tonight?" I shrugged.
"If burn one pot, you buy it...twice" I warned and stood up, grabbing my chips, feeling annoyed that my quiet time was being disturbed.
"Please don't knock my door tonight" I begged and he nodded, looking quite somber and I almost felt bad.
Almost.
I walked to my room and shut the door, sitting on my bed with the remote and chips in my hands, I turned on the television and continued to watch Empire.
I heard his door slam shut and I rolled my eyes at the unnecessary drama.
"Better don't break the door" I muttered and shoved chips into my mouth.
Ten minutes later, his door clicked open and then shut. I groaned at the distracting noise.
A few seconds later I heard the clanging of pots and sighed. Dropping the chips on the bedside drawer, I stumbled out of the room.
"Mr. Pierce?" I called from the door of my room
"Uh..um..yeah?" He stuttered nervously and I pinched my nose.
"The noise...please reduce it, yes?"
"Sure. Um..Aduke?" He pronounced my name very wrongly.
"Its A-du-ke" I told him, walking towards the kitchen.
"Okay" he answered and my eyes widened at the mess he made in the kitchen.
"What the hell?" The stew I made last night was all over the floor with the pot in his hands.
"I know what this looks like" he whispered, it sounded more like his voice was hoarse and my anger was spilling.
"Its not as bad as it looks, I swear" he whispered again and I ignored him, picking the pot from the floor.
I dropped it in the sink with a bang and picked a foam sponge then used it to clean the floor.
"I'll clea-" I glared at him and he stopped mid-statement.
I kissed my teeth and finished cleaning the floor. I washed my hands and walked back to the room. The whole time he stood by the door with his hands buried in the pockets of his sweatpants.
"Sorry" he said and I walked past him quickly and entered my room. My eyes searched for a pillow, I picked the one at the foot of the bed, pressed my face to it and screamed all my frustration out.
Seconds later, I pulled back, trying to catch my breath.
It had only been two days since he moved in and he was already getting under my skin.
