Chương 23: A house full of strangers

Amelia sat on the garden bench, still lost in her thoughts. The sky above was clear, the sun warm on her skin, but her mind was a storm. She couldn't stop thinking about that woman's smirk, her mocking words. The way she seemed so sure of herself, so sure that Amelia didn't belong.

Her fingers picked at the hem of her dress as she stared at the flowers swaying gently. "What's her problem?" she muttered under her breath. "Why is she even here, why do I feel so jealous even tho I refuse to admit it, it hurts seeing him with another woman, why does it hurt?"

The sound of the main gate creaking open pulled her from her thoughts. She looked up, frowning, her eyes scanning the entrance. Was Enzo expecting someone?

She stood slowly, her curiosity growing. As she walked closer to the gate, she froze. Seven women walked through, each dressed neatly, carrying small bags. They looked confident, like they knew exactly where they were going.
