My life was different from human life. I am a child of the chieftain of the golden lion tribe known for their exceptional physical ability and lightning powers. As a daughter of a chieftain I could harness power beyond any normal beast men but I felt lonely.
The children around my age all played together after heading toward the shaman to learn our ancestral arts and techniques. They acted like I was the odd one and used me for their interest.
That is why I didn't bother hanging out with them anymore. In this world, everyone, including my parents used me because my talents rivaled great warriors in the past, but that changed when he returned. My sole brother was weak beyond any tribesmen and had no talent in ancestral arts.
Unlike our ferocious nature, he was a kind brother who loved everything and everyone despite their status. Perhaps, that was the reason for his succession. Everyone who hated him at first, loved him in the end even I loved him for being honest.
Those clear eyes never betrayed me or used me instead they only showed an affection that I yearned for through my life.
" Hasar, what will you become when you grow up? Do you want to become the greatest chieftain or the warrior?"
I asked gently while combing my brother's messy hair. His gentle face was more handsome than any man in our tribe and he was quite popular with females. Moreover, he was the exceptionally intelligent and sharp person who saw things that even our father failed to see.
" I want to become a mage. I want to learn the truth of the world and travel through the mysterious."
He spoke with confidence that showed his determination to change his face. Beastmen had weaker mana capacity than any other races due to their gifted bodies. We were born warriors and hunters who reached the apex with our sheer strength that leveled mountains and cleaved oceans.
However, my brother wanted to reverse his path and reach the place that no beastmen ever reached before. He wanted to become an archmage who ruled the truth of the universe.
1 year later
I was running in the forest with my brother who had been chasing after me for a long time. We were having fun until we met him.
A human who had a disgusting smile and a scar that resembled a snake. He overpowered me who had superior physical abilities and crushed my brother who had the gift of nature. We were unable to do anything as we helplessly watched ourselves being caged in cold bars that sent chills to our bodies.
I counted days and nights to keep my reasons intact as I watched my brother go thinner and weaker every day. To feed me he gave up his portions to me and chose to suffer in this hell hole.
I was weak and stupid enough to watch my poor brother suffer until I met them. A man and a woman who would change our lives forever. He appeared in front of us with a face that no one has yet to show in this place- Kindness.
When I laid my eyes on him, I knew he was the person who could change our fates and give freedom that we desperately sought.
" Please buy us!"
A hoarse voice of mine reached his ears as he looked at me. He whispered something to the merchant and reached out his hands to us who were shivering in this coldness.
" What is your name, child?"
The woman asked in Southern language as she covered us with blankets that she got from the merchants. She gave us the food that she took from the waiters and gently stroked our heads like our parents.
Tears filled my eyes as I finally felt my heart set free because I also saw life returning to my brother's eyes. We finally escaped from this endless hell that sold us to the devils as we were sent to heaven where we would finally be able to see the sun and our family.
" Rest, child. Everything will be alright."
She whispered those words into my ears as my eyes slowly closed. My breath was stabilized as I slept like I was in my home.
