Chương 17: Chapter 17, Lets mess with causality why don't we.
Holding the Synchro card in my hand to my face it makes me pause for a second since I don't actually recognise this card, but I can feel it containing a Card Spirit in it. . .
"This defiantly isn't one of their cards" I say while giving a glance to the demi-gods before showing it to them.
"do any of you recognise this knight?" The demi-gods each have a look at the image but they all shake their head.
"this can't have come from nothing, It needs at least some sort of source even if its made using my Messed up soul I know I can't just randomly spit out cards without thinking." with this I come up with a great idea.
"Miquella check my memory for this card before today."
[you know I'm not your diary right, and what's the point] He says with a look of annoyance from my side.
"I mean my memories from before entering Domino City" I say in equal annoyance, the demi-god eyes move in understanding before his eyes glow.
[Wow, your mind is really dishevelled, What the Fuck is that . . . I wish I didn't see that and ahh the card game memories. Lets see Game rules, Game Statistics, Game one turn kill methods, Epic game Moments, Game Show.
Why is this part of your mind so organised when compared to the rest? Ah found it Game card memories.]
Miquella's eyes glow even more intensely probably going though all those memories really quickly like a super computer.
[Found it, and just gonna say the amount of cards is staggering. its actually concerning.]
"good concerning or bad concerning ?"
[Don't know since unless your memory is meant to hold enough information to be on par with Raya Lucaria with just these cards alone, its not bad concerning.]
"Well I'm not sure since my situation is weird enough as is. but I'll hazard a guess with no, since the information should be connected to the Demi-Gods not Yu-gi-oh. . . Wait when you arrived how long did it take for you to latch onto me?"
[Well counting it in time relative to this realm, around 3 hours, I was discovered in the first hour but it was a struggle bout for the 2 hours after before the latching.]
"I also assume that during that process you tried to hold onto anything even if it was the fabric of the Shadow realm where the gods would be in when you were dragged out of it."
[Marika didn't raise weak children, When I was losing it went Kicking and screaming, so what if I tried to hold on for dear life, I thought if it was the end why not spite them somehow.]
I place my fingers on the bridge of my nose and smile.
"well from your actions you most likely grabbed a mass of the Shadow realm where all duel spirits are born and live with your exit. and Since my body essentially has a world blueprint its allowing me to shape the Shadow realm to form the cards but since its still part of the shadow realm it means it's still connected so it can only make cards it already has a template for, Aka Yugioh cards that aren't meant to exist yet."
Out of the people present I think only Ranni, Miquella and Mohg again for some reason understand, I even see steam rising from Guinevere's ears maybe since I short circuited her brain.
"i'll simplify it, I use magic to make unique cards," pointing to Miquella who's eyes have stopped glowing. "He did something accidentally and now I can make more cards but these are cards that would come out in the future."
I get a nod from Guinevere.
"its a big deal since the future has a lot of cards, many of them just game breaking. but I would have to have a look since I can't remember them all."
I smile and open my trench coat to put the card away in one of my pockets, as it would enter the pocket a invisible force rejects me from placing it the pocket.
"ok thats strange?"
I go to place it just a different pocket, the same thing occurs, my brow bends in frustration, I take out Miquella's Plots deck and place the Synchro in it, the same force stops me from adding it to the deck.
"oh, I understand, Fuck,"
Everyone sees what I did and how it rejected the pockets and deck. Guinevere asks.
"What's wrong, why can't you add the card to the deck?"
turning to her with a look of annoyance, "well it seems my Special situation has a downside, I can't use cards my internal Blueprint doesn't recognise, my Blueprint works off this dimensions understanding and this card isn't from this Dimension's time frame so its rejecting it."
I hand the card to her, She holds it for a second then places it in her deck with no struggle. . .
"yep, The universe hates me." as if to prove a point I see a fire escapes ladder snap from Rust and come tumbling down right in front of my path, Since I heard it I dodge out of the way just in time.
"Fuck you too Universe, meh while I would have loved to make some of the broken cards if their restricted, there's upsides and downsides but regardless since you helped indirectly with the gaining of this new skill you can keep the card."
I turn around and continue our journey but raise my arms and shrug, "its not like you can even use it anyway."
"What do you mean, I can't use it ?" she askes following me with a look of confusion on her face.
"well Its a Synchro Monster for one meaning it needs to be Synchro summoned, That requires 2 prerequisites, a type of monster known as a tuner, as well as another monster also on the field with their levels combined equalling the level of that Synchro card."
She listens with apt attention maybe at the prospect of having a card no one else has.
"the Problem is that Tuner's aren't a thing at this point in time, its a monster type like warrior or spellcaster, its not a given effect."
With a quick wit she says "you can make cards from the future why not a tuner for me as well."
I stop moving for a second and look towards her. "Now that would make sense but one problem, What would I get from it, I'm already giving you a favour by fixing your brother since I feel its something that should be fixed but giving you a card for no reason is pushing the envelope on my kindness."
She contemplates for a bit, then places a hand on her hips "I could pay for it, I have money even though Marik brainwashed use, he still payed us for some reason, maybe to make the brainwashing feel less dirty."
when she talks about money I come up with an idea for the pricing.
"well I do need some cash, why not, 100$ for the card and you if you pay I'll need to see your deck."
her face scrunches at the cost but she takes out a pair of 50's and hands them to me, she goes to retrieve her deck from her duel disk.
"Why do you need to see my deck anyway, Its just one card its not like it gonna do much." she says while handing her deck.
"well actually it does matter since depending on the tuner, they work with some decks and some don't work at all, for instance if you have a lot of level 3 monsters, the tuner would have to be level 3 to allow the Synchro monster."
I take her deck and fan though the cards. . . . while looking though her deck I'm surprised, She's running an Parshath deck, she its not massively optimised but it has the key Backbone for it to work like Sanctuary in the sky and some Nova summoners to pull it out.
"ok I can see what card would be best for this kind of deck but I'm surprised you would run a Parshath deck, to be honest I was expecting something like Archfiend or may be a Monarch deck."
She nods at the archfiend but is confused at the Monarch. "My brother Ran a Archfiend deck but I prefer the fairy knights, partly since it throws people off and what do you mean monarch deck, I remember some cards known as the Monarch archetype but they don't have a deck around them yet."
'Ah their support cards must not be fully out yet, dodging a bullet there, Hey Miquella when I made the card did it delay you fishing to get the Elden ring type cards ?'
[No not really, I'm getting closer to getting the core of 3 of them, no idea who its connected to though.]
'Lets pray its not you know what.'
looking up from fanning the cards I say to Guinevere
"well anyway, If you pay 1000 in total I'll optimise the deck so it's scary for this time period."
Without a Question she realizes the significance of the tune-up and bites her lip in annoyance.
"I didn't think I would need a grand today so why do you expect me to just be carrying that amount of dough."
I continue to walk and we finally reach the roads again and funnily enough I spot a back down the road where were going.
"well, what are the chances, meh it seems the universe loves you as much as it hates me. since out of the thousands of cards I could have made by accident I made one that's actually useable for a Parshath deck."
"What do you mean useable?"
Raising a hand and tilting the hand I say "Well its a good card that works as a good middle tuner and Parshath has a Synchro version actually, if I remember its around level 7 or 8, so using the Synchro, you could just use it as a stepping stone for the Parshath Synchro, but that's it only benefit really since its just a normal 2300 attack point monster otherwise."
She just tilts her head in confusion, "yeah and that's great, anything above 2000 is good but with this ability it should improve my field right."
I pause while we go towards the bank. "Oh yeah, everyone from here thinks anything over 2000 attack as the good threshold, For reference in the future the good threshold is at least having an effect that pushes forth your strategy, Stats are usually secondary concerns unless its for the monster's field presence."
I pocket collect her deck together before taking out Miquella's card from his deck.
"For example you would think this card 'Miquella, the Kind' would be a bad card if you were looking just at his ATK of 100 and no Def, but his abilities change that from bad to great, not being able to be attacked or removed by spells means he can stay on the field without assistance, then his ability to just give me a field card even if limited in application progresses my strategy."
When we reach the bank I look at her, "just for reference, the price for the deck tune up would include 2 more Synchro's since I can only remember two good fairy ones. hey Miquella is there a good Fairy type Synchro's in the memories."
we both see Miquella's eyes glow for a second before tilting his head, [Maybe, I found one and its actually of the same archetype of the created synchro. its called Mannadium Prime-Heart, its that archetypes Boss card.]
Now that I know the card's name it should be easier to make it instead of doing it randomly.
"So you gonna pay up or walk on this opportunity, you have a while since I remember it takes a while for the Slifer duel to play out." I watch as she sighs before running into the Bank, I just stand outside and lean against a wall.
I watch her walk out with a cheque, I shrug and take it and direct her to another alleyway towards the duel in question.
Once out of sight I get her deck again and this time start dismantling it I take out the superfluous cards and once done I start using my magic.
To be honest her deck seemed very good for the time but if she met any deck like an Eldlich player it would have been stomped, but then again Eldlich stomps in modern day so no difference.
As the backbone of the deck I use her Nova summoners and add some Shinning angels so she has Monster cycle, next I make the Synchro's since without those as reference the tuners could be misaligned.
Yikes the boss is a level 10, not an easy synchro but I read its ability, yup its Boss level, it also refers to a another card so I have a look at that as well and find the card and a variant of it which are both tuners, the original is meh but the variant is better and actually is a light fairy so i can run another powerful card due to this so I add it to the Tuner selection.
The other Synchro's are 8 and 7 respectfully so its a high bar maybe another low level Synchro could help, wait isn't this a Sanctuary of the sky deck.
I remember one of my oldest decks in my past life and Look at the Agents and within it is the latest member to be added to the archetype, Pluto, I add it to the pack and now the deck has a 10, 8-5 spread of Synchro's 5 in total.
When I create the Synchro cards again the glowing effect occurs but when I Create Pluto's card I feel something different from when I was making the others, I feel the Cards Spirit actually inhabit it, well damn it seems at least a part of the universe likes her, but when I go to create the next card I learn something. I can't feel the connection with the blueprint of Pluto any more, this means I can't make another Pluto.
Now with the Synchro's present I add the tuners, again not a lot of light fairy tuners but I find some, but I hit a snag, it would be hard to get Pluto out but the others would be easier, I reorient the deck and find a pair of cards that make the deck way better for the summoning of the synchro's.
Again while Making the Cards I feel the same feeling as before as I can tell a card spirit has latched onto one of the cards, this time its a Tuner known as 'Diviner of the Herald', from the motif I think its from the Herald Deck.
Moving onto the last section I make the normal cards a.k.a. the spell, traps and monsters.
With the set up of the deck it allows me to add some very unique cards, first in the spell part I add the 'Valhalla, Hall of the fallen' and 'Solidarity' which are both great Continuous spells, I also add the Parshath's version of Sanctuary in the sky.
For traps I found a trap that works great for the deck so I added it but its niche requirements is tricky. Majorly for note is the non-tuner monsters, I'm able to make them and I finish with a specific card since I restricted some of my card choice because of this card.
Having three card spirits appear make me think I can actually either invite them or force them to appear at the cost of making more, with this I try, I Channel some energy from my spirit and with it comes a result, The last card of the deck appears and it has a Card spirit, its Eva.
I separate the cards with Duel Spirits from the lot and show them to Guinevere who looks confused as I showed them to her and I smile.
She's even more confused when a Small little green alien on her shoulder pokes her chin, it causes her to turn to look at it and behind her are 3 entities, the first is a Knight in shining armour with floral patterns, the Next looks like a priestess with rainbow wings made of light and standing behind the pair of ladies is a very tall and lanky androgynous figure with grey skin and purple hair, his very figure radiates death but you can tell he controls it deeply.

"Well I'm done and you can say hello to some Card Spirits who decided to join you it seems."
I hand her the deck for her to look and direct us to the Slifer duel, it doesn't take long as when we turn the block I can see the Pharaoh himself and the cue ball headed puppet who's having Slifer attack a slime thing before drawing a card.
