My quirk is overpowered. It made simple things like making friends and meeting new people suffocating.
At the lowest power setting, I could take away someone's quirk for a second with a glance. At the highest setting, I could completely erase their quirk for the rest of their lives with a brush of skin contact.
I constantly wore gloves and turtlenecks with anything long. If I accidentally bumped into someone and they surprised me, I could literally erase the key to their life long dreams. I also had two glasses that weren't as needed but still useful.
One had a light tint of blue. It was for normal days, when I just wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally leave someone quirkless for a half-hour. The other were a deep black, for days when my quirk felt uncontrollable. They made sure nothing got out.
I could see through them, though they somehow didn't count as me looking at someone when I had them on. Sometimes my quirk would slip past the blue glass, but it didn't happen often enough for me to want to carry the black glasses with me.
Mulling over my quirk, I stare at the projection in front of me. For having a quirk that's absolutely useless against robots, I got a surprisingly high score, which mostly came from hero points I got for helping Midoriya.
If I got enough points for entrance, then Midoriya must've gotten even more. When the projection quits I pick up my phone. I had been thinking over texting Midoriya when my phone goes off with a phone call.
It's Midoriya's number, and for a second I remember that I had given him mine. Answering it, I bring it up to my ear.
"Hey Hibiki! I got enough points to make it in! How did you do!" Midoriya's excited voice flows through the phone.
"I did good, got enough points to get in from helping you out."
"Really! That's great! How about when school starts we can meet on a nearby street and walk together!"
"Sure Midoriya. See you then."
"See you then Hibiki!"
I turn off the phone once the calls over. And that, was my first official phone call. I've practiced answering a phone call before, and I've been trained through the steps but the actual interaction wasn't provided.
Setting the phone down, I pick up the small projector disk and walk into the living room. Seeing my mom asleep on the couch, I place it where I know she'll be able to find it. Seems like there's going to be a new event for her to repeat for years to come; me getting accepted into U.A.
~ Time Skip ~
I mess with the uniform jacket as I walk with Midoriya. My mom had been asleep this morning, making it plenty easy to get past her without any trouble. Me and Midoriya had met up on a nearby street and we were now making our way past the entrance of the school.
I glance at the wall as we get closer to the actual school building. It's thick, probably meant to help protect the aspiring heroes.
When me and Midoriya get to the door, I back up a bit. I'm in a hero class, getting ready to one day be a hero. This is everything I've aspired to be. One of my childhood dreams is beginning to become fulfilled.
The door opens and we walk in. Midoriya let's me walk in first. No one seems to notice my arrival and I take that moment to find a seat in the back near the window. When Midoriya officially walks into the room, chaos ensues.
I'm watching them interact when suddenly a deeper voice silences the room. I lean forward in my chair, only to topple backwards when I make eye contact with him.
He had just gotten out of a sleeping bag, but I could recognize this man anywhere. From the eye bags to the long black hair, all the way to the outfit he's wearing.
My dad.
That man right there is my dad. I just made eye contact with my dad. I'm completely ready to freak out with excitement when a single thought silences everything else out.
He doesn't know I exist.
