Of course, even though I said 'to go to the Yang realm', it wasn't open. For the Yang realm's shrine to open, I'd have to wait another four or so hours. The ancestral shrine doesn't tell you how long you have to wait until your destination opens, but it gives a general idea of the time, by giving you a shade of either red, blue, yellow, or green. It really depended on the Plane you were going to go to, but yeah.
The darker the shade, the longer you have to wait. If the colour is completely black, then that means you need to wait ten hours. If it's a very bright and pure colour, it means your destination is either open, or needs a few minutes to open. As for me, it was a sort of... I don't know. The colour was like the barf of a cartoon character — a very greenish-brownish-green.
After around four hours, I stood on the shrine, and started thinking about my destination — the Plane it was in; the shrine I was going to.
Within seconds, the whole world went blank, and an odd feeling surrounded my body. This 'feeling' is a common occurrence, and therefore, could be ignored. Whenever someone goes through a shrine, a force covers our entire body, and from the foot to the head, our body is enveloped in it. It is even possible to feel the force inside you.
After five or so seconds of being surrounded by that force in complete darkness, I arrived out of the shrine at the Yang realm. Luckily, the Yang realm wasn't at war with the north, and nothing suspicious seemed to be happening. Obviously, I had to go through a screening, because most people coming to the Yang realm are (a) spies, (b) returning soldiers, (c) instructors, (d) brain dead civilians.
After I went through the screening, the soldiers gave me a token, and let me roam around, since they assumed that I was some stupid person. Of course, I neither dillied nor dallied (as in dilly dally) and immediately left the Yang realm, to go to the capital of the east — the Jia's city. Narcissistic, sure, but it can also be seen as lack of creativity. For example, the Yang realm: even if it is meant to symbolize justice, it's just an outpost for war. Then, we have whatever the grand Mikura shrine. Apparently, they symbolize and promote love and peace, but we all know how much the northerners love their beloved 'peace'.
Luckily, no one recognized me, and I was able to slip away unnoticed. Still, I wondered why and how the high-commander's men were so incompetent to the point of being unable to recognize me, the future high-commander. Despite the clear suspicion, I ignored it, as I had done many many times before, in the past.
Ok, so... the east is ancient china, the west is high society Britain, the south is edo period japan, so what is the north? Well... wanna hint? It's asian (as if making 2/4 of the planes asian based wasn't enough, lol).
