All that is left is endless sand.

The world ended because of the power-hungry wanting more and more when there was nothing left.

The only remnants of humans are few and spread wide.

The nukes that were launched made alterations within human genetics. Giving them powers that used to be only fantasy

Not only humans but wild animals, turned beasts have evolved.
