Chương 23: Noelle's Wand Incident

After retiring back to her dorm for the night, Noelle sat on her bed and looked at her fathers wand. She knew it was irrational, but a part of her felt as though she'd be betraying her parents if she used another wand, but what if Draco was right?

The various tests he had made her perform seemed to back up his assertions. Funneling her will through cherry wood, for example, was easy, but through yew wood, like her fathers wand was made of, it wasn't possible at all

The cores were similar. She could actually channel her will through all of them, with varying degrees of proficiency, but the dragon heartstrings, like the one in her fathers wands, were the most challenging. Draco had described those tests as comparability tests.

Assuming that everything he said was true, Noelle guessed that her compatibility with unicorn tail hairs was around 95%, most Phoenix tail feathers were around 90%, and Thunderbird tail feathers were around 85%. One of the white Phoenix tail feathers, though, had a compatibility of probably 99%, so she guessed that Draco would use that as the core.

------

The next morning, Noelle was up before the other girls in her room, so she get ready and headed down to the common room. To her surprise, Draco was already waiting for her.

"Good morning, Noelle" Draco greeted her as he rose out of the chair he had been seated in, and carried over to her a wand. She was surprised by how beautifully designed it was. "Here is your new wand."

Blushing with a bit of embarrassment, Noelle accepted the wand into her hand and started examining it, thinking it looked more like a work of art.

"Do you know the lumos spell?" Draco asked Noelle with curiosity.

"Sure, it's one of the simplest spells, so I practiced it a bit at home in secret." Noelle admitted to Draco.

Draco grinned and nodded "That's perfect. So lets go ahead and compare the effectiveness of both wands. Start by casting Lumos with your fathers wand, which I estimate has about 10% compatibility with you, and then do the exact same thing with your new wand." he instructed her.

Noelle retrieved her fathers wand from her pocket and forced her intent through it forcefully "Lumos!" she called out, and created a small ball of light that was a sphere shape with a diameter of about four inches "Nox!" she said and the light was extinguished.

Noelle then looked at the wand that Draco had made and forced her intent through it just as strongly as she had with her fathers wand while Draco shut tight his eyes and covered them with both his hands "Lumos!"

------

The entire Gryffindor dorm was suddenly filled with an intense white light, waking up every student that was still in bed and temporarily blinding them. If not for the magic protecting the school and hiding it, everyone within at least twenty miles would have seen that light.

Even Hagrid, who was out in his cabin, was awoken by the light, though gratefully it only lasted a couple seconds before vanishing.

------

Noelle had used Nox as fast as she possible could, causing the light to disappear as quickly as it appeared, though she was already temporarily blinded, so she couldn't see that to confirm it. "The wand, where did it do?" Noelle noticed that the wand that Draco had made for her was no longer in her hand.

"It's fine." Draco took her now empty hand and led her over to a sofa "This is expected."

Since she was currently blinded, Noelle had no choice but to trust Draco and let him lead her to the sofa and helped her to sit on it.

"I don't understand." Noelle insisted with confusion.

"It's a soulbound wand." Draco insisted simply "It is intimately entwined with your your soul, so you can call it out whenever you need it, and if you are ever separated from it, or if it becomes damaged, your intent can call it back or repair it. Pretty cool, huh?"

This news came as a shock to Noelle "Why doesn't everyone use wands like that then?" Noelle asked him while he sat next to her her on the couch, still holding her hand.

Noelle's heart started pounding as she noticed her sat next to her, and she felt their legs contact each other, feeling quite embarrassed

"Because it's only possible with 100 percent compatibility, and once a wand is soulbound to a person no one else can ever use it." Draco explained to Noelle simply "And to get to 100 percent compatibility is not easy. The wandmaker must carefully select each material and then must focus all their intent throughout the crafting of it on the specific person the wand is being made for. A pre-made wand off a shelf cannot normally become soulbound. In other words, you are a very lucky girl."

Noelle's vision was finally starting to return, so she felt relieved, but after hearing just how special this wand of hers was, she became even more embarrassed "Th....thank you....I'll treasure this wand always." she told him, recalling what Noelle had said, and focusing her intent and causing her new wand to reappear in her hand.

"Since the compatibility is so much better with this new wand, you don't need to force that much intent through it, otherwise your magic may go out of control." Draco warned her "Luckily I caught this so quickly, before you ingrained such methods into your natural instincts. Now you can train yourself with a wand that fits you much better, and you can become a totally badass and beautiful witch when you grow up."

Even more embarrassed now, Noelle thanked Draco and then excused herself with the excuse of getting ready for classes.

------

Draco had carefully observed Noelle's reactions while she was blinded, and found them absolutely adorable. He still wasn't quite certain why Neville was apparently replaced by this cute girl, since he had never even considered this happening. As a joke, he thought about Harry becoming a girl, and it happened in spite of him not intending to activate that ability, but it somehow still happened anyway, but why Neville?

He could only assume that 'Sun Wukong' guy decided to have a little fun. Draco was not complaining, though, since Noelle was a cute girl and reminded him of Ginny way more then Neville was described.

------

Haha, partially correct, young Draco. Sun Wukong here. Even if it was intended as a joke, I thought your first idea for a change in reality, making Harry a girl, was just much more fun, so when you warped reality, I caused it to activate a second time, temporarily removing the limitations imposed by the system. According to my analysis, the system judged that the easiest way to alter reality without any hiccups necessitated changing Neville into Noelle, since the limitations were temporarily lifted.

As for why Noelle's personality is so different from Neville's, her childhood was much nicer. Her family was more supportive, and the most traumatizing event, where Neville's uncle threw him out of a window to forcefully awaken him magic, never happened to Noelle. It seems her uncle wouldn't mind throwing a boy out a window, but did not do it to a girl. This is also why she doesn't have Trevor, as that Toad was a gift from Neville's uncle after the window incident.

------

When his system gave him the message from Sun Wukong, Draco was momentarily surprised, but after reading it, it had made sense. Draco just decided to be grateful for having one more cute wife in the future, if he had his way.
