They had no classes yesterday because they arrived in the evening and then there was the sorting and the start of term feast, so that meant that their first class was Transfiguration. Draco was fine with that, and in fact thought that it might be a good opportunity.
He smiled when Noelle came back down from the dorm with Holly and Daphne "Good morning, Ladies. Ready to head down to breakfast?" he suggested to the trio "After we eat we can head to transfiguration class."
Holly hugged Draco "Noelle told us about the amazing wand you made for her."
Draco hugged Holly back and chuckled "So you want one too?" he guessed.
"Is that alright?" Holly asked hopefully.
"Sure, though may take a while since I am waiting to get my hands on a certain type of wood that I think would be suitable for you. I don't have access to it, so for now please use your current wand. Okay?" Draco suggested to her.
Holly kissed Draco's cheek "Thank you." she said and let go of Draco and he let go of her "Okay, I'm hungry now."
Draco started giving Holly, Noelle and Daphne each a school map as Lavender and Parvati came down as well "Lavender, Parvati!" Draco jogged over to them "We're heading to breakfast, but I have maps of the school for everyone. Just need to give the last two to the two of you." he passed each of them a map and smiled.
"Do you two want to accompany us?" Daphne suggested to Lavender and Parvati.
"Definitely! Yeah!" Lavender agreed cheerfully.
Draco smiled, enjoying the idea of walking to breakfast accompanied by five cuties. "Alright, I know the way." Draco told them and gestured for them to follow him.
------
After breakfast, Draco had a brief chat with Hermione before leading the Gryffindor girls up to their Transfiguration class, and the six of them were seemingly the first to arrive, though there was a tabby cat on the teachers desk watching the classroom.
Draco, of course, knew that the cat was Professor McGonagall, who was an animagus, "Good morning Professor McGonagall." Draco greeted the cat.
The Gryffindor girls were surprised and all looked at the cat.
"Oh, she probably wants to surprise the class so lets not tell the others. Let her have her bit of fun." Draco suggested "Lets take our seats and wait for class to start."
"Sit with Parvati and I" Lavender suggested to Draco, blushing somewhat "We want to get to know you now too."
"Sure, I don't mind" Draco agreed and went to sit at a table in the front of the class, and Holly, Noelle, and Daphne sat at the table directly behind them and they started talking among each other while waiting for class to start.
The other Gryffindor boys were next to arrive due to their early wake up call from Noelle's new wand. The next to arrive were Ron Weasley and three Slytherin girls, Tracey Davis, Lily Moon, and Bethany Runcorn. As Draco had predicted, Theo and his group ended up being late.
The other students were looking confused five minutes after the class was supposed to start when Theo, Crabbe, Goyle, Blaise, Pansy and Millicent all came running in.
"Looks like we made it" Blaise said with a sigh of relief, and the others started agreeing with him.
"Idiots, you are five minutes late. Professor McGonagall has been waiting for you to show up to start class." Draco pointed out to them.
"Shove it, Malfoy." Theo sneered at Draco "If the Professor is not here, then we're not late."
"Idiot, did you forget which class this is?"Draco pointed out to Theo, then looked at the cat.
Theo looked at the cat and then seemed to realize he'd screwed up. The cat hopped off of the desk, transforming into Professor McGonagall, who approached the latecomers
"That was bloody brilliant" Ron commented, genuinely impressed, and also glad that he was not in the shoes of Theo and his gang.
"Well thank you for that assessment, Mr Weasley." McGonagall looked at the latecomers "Perhaps it would be more useful if I transfigured one of you into a pocket watch? That way the rest of you might be on time."
"We got lost." Theo protested.
"Hey, I offered you all a map." Ron pointed out to Theo and his group "The school's magic, so it may sometimes change. The map could have helped you find an alternate route like we did."
Even though Draco wasn't really the biggest fan of Ron, Draco had given him some extra maps in case he hadn't ended up in the same house as Holly, though at the time he had not expected Ron to End up in Slytherin or to share those maps with the Slytherin first years.
Thanks to Theo's stubborn pride, however, it seemed that his group had destroyed the maps that Ron gave to them, and as a result fell into Draco's trap. On his way to the Great Hall for breakfast, he tried communicating with the sentient will of the school and politely suggested that the corridor leading to the stairs out of the dungeon should disappear for about a half hour, and it sounded as though the school had listened to him, which made him feel proud, though he kept a good power face.
"Why should I trust anything that came from you?" Theo asked Ron with a sneer.
"Draco actually provided the maps. He gave some to Susan Bones in Hufflepuff and Hermione Granger in Ravenclaw as well, so that every first year should have received them." Ron looked at the three Slytherin girls that had arrived with him "Aren't you glad that you didn't destroy your maps?"
Tracey Davis, Lily Moon, and Bethany Runcorn merely nodded and looked at Draco, since they had just heard was the origin of the maps.
Seeing the three girls start looking at Draco with curiosity suddenly made Ron unhappy, though he did his best not to show it. Ron wanted to make these three like him and them have Holly get jealous and realize how great he was, and finally have her fall for him, but because he had mentioned Draco's name it seemed to be backfiring on him.
"I trust that you can at least find your way to your seats?" McGonagall asked.
The late Slytherins glumly headed over to take their seats.
"Mr. Malfoy." Professor McGonagall looked at Draco.
"Yes Professor?" Draco asked, seeming confused.
"You alone recognized that I was an animagus, so five points to Gryffindor. And a further ten points since you were so thoughtful as to offer maps not only to your own dorm, but to the other dorms as well. Quite noble of you." McGonagall explained.
"Thank you Professor." Draco said proudly, even though she got the motive completely wrong. He had passed the maps around before the sorting ceremony and it just worked out that they ended up having the other three end up in Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. His motive was making sure that Holly had immediate access to it.
Draco did not mind taking the credit for it and scoring fifteen house points.
"Alright children, lets begin your lesson" McGonagall announced and then started teaching.
