Chương 26: We are preparing for a debut

The meeting was yet to begin by the time Nari and Yumi got back with the orders. They were done eating and cleaning up by the time, the staff joined them.

Director Oh and The head of the PR team Miss Lim arrived last with their manager in toe. Everyone stood as they walked in.

Miss Lim was a five foot six slender women dressed stylishly in a high waisted bell legged dark blue jean trousers and cream coloured high neck fitted chiffon blouse.

Her hair was packed up in a tight bun. She had her signature dark blue cat eyes glasses resting on the bridge of her nose.

She smiled as she walked in, silently taking in all the members of Vixen's faces. She pulled out the seat beside Director Oh's which was at the end of the table opposite the window and sat.

Resting his elbows on the edge of the table and leaning forward, Director Oh smiled at the girls, he asked, "it has been a while girls, how have you been?"

They all reply to certain decrees, "It has been good, Sir"

He nodded and looked to his side, gesturing to Team Leader Lim, "This is Miss Lim, she is in charge of the PR department. You should get acquainted with her, the PR team and the artist need to have a symbiotic relationship".

"Hello!", they replied with half bows.

"Since the introduce is out of the way, let's get started", he leaned back and unlocked his tablet. " Your debut day has been set for October 13th, it seems spooky right? Miss Kim chose it herself, it will go well with your concept."

The girls exchanged cheerful looks, although their debut date was pushed back by a few weeks. The fact that they finally had a debut date set made them excited.

It also helped that this time they were hearing this from the director, usually, their manager assured them by just mentioning that they would be debuting by so and so a month.

Hearing it from the Director made it feel final, after getting the hopes raised only to be crushed in the past.

"Your debut will be announced after Echo's comeback, until then we will start actively promoting VIXEN", he caught Miss Lim's eyes and nodded.

Miss Lim Smiled and leaned forward, she gazed at Chung-ae, "You will be making an appearance in The Roaster for your new drama, how about 'accidentally' dropping hints about the Debut. I will discuss with the Producer Mr Jung and see if he could help us out".

Chung-Ae nodded, "I could speak with Choonhee unnie, we get along well and her reputation is very good. I am sure she would be willing to slip in a statement about the group".

Miss Lim nodded, "It will be good if one or two of you could visit Chung-Ae on set but it has to be one of the original members. Maybe Bitna and Sun-hi who have a bit of a fan base." She glanced at Director Oh as she said that.

"I would say that we arrange for the group to send you a coffee truck but that could just end up getting the girls backlash from netizens.

"Your idea is better, netizens talked about how all the girls got along during the survival show. The girls visiting her on set would get a lot of positive remarks from netizens and create some buzz."

He glanced at Manager Yoo and Chung-ae, "pick a day and send the girls there".

"Yes, Sir ", Manager Yoo replied.

Miss Lim continued by saying, "the two new members will be introduced after the Debut date is announced but to create a good hype among netizens. Nari will be making an appearance in the title track of ECHO's upcoming mini-album.

"Mira is already pretty well known since taking part in Finding VIXEN and this year's Teen Idol season 5. introducing her won't be hard. The upcoming weeks won't be easy. let's work hard and make Vixen's debut a success".

"Yes", Everyone chorused.

A week and a half later, HBC studios, just outside Chung-ae's dressing room.

Chung-ae's sat still while the makeup artists touched up her face. she was in the middle of filming an episode of THE ROASTER with the rest of the cast of her drama.

They had taken a twenty minutes break in the middle of recording while waiting for another guest to arrive. Chung-ae looked up as the door opened and her manager walked in.

"Chung-ae, I just spoke with the assistant director and the guest got into an accident. No one was hurt but they are going to the hospital for a check-up.

"Since they are held up, filming will continue until they arrive", Chief Yoo went closer and looked loser at Chung-ae's face. "Please touch up around her jawline", she said in a low tone.

Okay", The Make-up artist replied drawing back slightly to get a view of Chung-ae's jaw.

Chung-ae tipped her head back slightly to give the make-up artist a better view. The Make-up artist nodded and stepped closer, she gently reapplied the makeup.

Recording of the show resumed ten minutes later, Towards the end of the show, the host began to ask the cast about their next projects. As planned the lead actress of the drama Jang Choonhee said playfully,

"I planned on going on a two weeks long vacation with some after filming for so long but a friend of mine suddenly pulled out a few days ago. I felt a little betrayed because it was supposed to be our bonding trip but I quickly got over it when I found out why she couldn't join me on the trip".

"Ah! you must have been so disappointed", The Host Kang Minwoo replied.

"I was. Our plane tickets and the itinerary was already planned when I got the news. I guess it hurts more because this is the second time we had to reschedule a trip"

"Wow, that must have hurt. Now I am curious about who could turn you down, she must have a very thick skin".

Choonhee giggled and looked pointedly at Chung-ae, "I don't know but you can ask her since she is here".

"You keep looking at Chung-ae", the host turned to Chung-ae who was blushing, "don't tell me it is Chung-ae?"

"Ha Ha Ha, It is", Choonhee replied laughing.

"Wait, What! Chung-ae, why are you disappointing your friend?"

Chung-ae, covered her mouth, "I am sorry Unnie. I promise to make it up to you".

Titling his head to the side, Kang Minwoo asked, "Chung-ae, what would make you cancel a trip twice?"

"It was because I am currently preparing for Vixen's debut. My members and I are practising so hard, I cannot go on a trip".

Kang Minwoo's mouth made an O, " wow, did you just reveal a company secret or something?"

"Maybe but it was going to be announced at so point, I am sure management won't be so mad at me. As far as I don't reveal too much".

Kang Minwoo moved closer to Chung-ae and asked in a low tone, "what exactly can be classified as revealing too much? Is it something like revealing how many members are in the group and your concept?"

"You will not get anything out of me", Chung-ae made a zipping gesture on her lip and looked forward.

"Come on Chung-ae give me something else".

"No I won't but I will tell you that there aren't many changes to the lineup".

Kang Minwoo tried a few times to get her to give more hints but gave up when she remained tight-lipped.
