Chương 54: Warnings and more promises
Mia's pace picked up the moment she smelt Gerald behind her.
When he began closing in on her she resorted to running, but the moment she turned down a deserted lane he appeared in front of her.
Mia froze on sight of the furrowed brow knight and immediately her reflexes kicked in.
She made a move to dash off but was stopped by the sword Gerald drew to her throat.
She gulped in thick saliva as she stared at the fury in his eyes,she had never seen him angry.
Mia gently backed away trembling,her eyes never leaving his face till her back came in contact with the wall behind her.
She looked sideways before her eyes settled back on him as he drew even closer,only stopping with his face few inches from hers.
A frightened Mia thinned her lips and closed her eyes.
"What did you hear!"Gerald demanded as he drew his sword even closer to her neck, raising it up to her chin.
Mia's eyes flew open and their gaze locked
"Nu... nothing...I swear!"
"Don't mess with me....I know you heard it all"
"Why then do you ask since you already know?...."
Gerald fell silent and slammed his palm into his head.
"Goddamit!....you don't understand"
"What?"
"No one must know about this....this will kill you if it reaches another ear,I might as well kill you first"he warned.
"But you told her about it....Isnt this supposed to be a top secret"
Gerald fell silent and averted his eyes for the first time.
"So she's the reason you want me far from you.....I won't stand for this!"
"She's not your business... leave her out of this".
Suddenly Mia didn't know how she found the courage to look him fiercely in the eye with an overwhelming desire to voice out what burdened her heart while she watched them.
Even if it would make his steel cut flesh she wanted to make it clearwouldn't stand to watch another woman claim what was hers.
"You're mine!....my lord,and I will make sure of it".
"You have the guts!_"
"I do...and I will win"
"Look I don't know what in the world of hades goes on in that head but any day you touch even the least bit of a strand of her hair....I'll make sure you breathe your last...this is not a warning it's a promise!"
Gerald warned before replacing his sword back in it's sheath and walking away.
"My lord...You will love me!.... I swear on it!"
Mia called out but Gerald didn't stop walking, gripping his hand in firm fist to suppress the anger and irritation he felt deep with but one thing he was certain of was that he meant every word he had said to her.

The Water thrown on Gaby jolted him awake,he blinked severally trying to adjust his eyes to the darkness till his eyes caught sight of the two demons standing in front of him.
Gaby strained to see until the liquid clouding his eyes finally gave way allowing him to clearly see the two men standing before him,one holding a flame in his hand.
The one with a crown on his head who held his gaze for a couple of seconds.
Startled as he was he gasped at the site as his jaw dropped yet no sound came out.
The flame which clearly illuminated his face aided the young demon to take a good look at him,his gaze was stuck to his face that he couldn't look away,he couldn't even believe his eyes.
He recognized the King.
Had only seen him once from afar with the Emperor,a demon which everyone portrayed to be as good as a ruler like Emperor Tyran,one known to tread with compassion even for his subjects,but that was all a fallacy nothing but a mere camouflage show to hide what he truly was.
"Get on your feet!you are coming with us!"
Dark barked and only then did Gaby look his way.
Gaby tried to talk but his dry lips remained stuck to themselves,he was thirsty and weak to utter even a sound.
The young demon tried to get on his feet but his thin legs wobbled till they finally gave way throwing him off balance and unto the floor.
Dark drew closer and summoned a magic circle, suddenly the water spilled on the ground gathered and began moving towards his mouth.
Gaby opened his mouth to drink.
It was tasteless,the Sorceror had filtered it.
He licked his lips and raised his head from to the king.
"What do you want from me?"he questioned but the king only responded with an eerie grin which creeped him out.
"That which only you possess."
"I have nothing you need!"Gaby snapped before laying on the wet ground and backing them.
"Oh you do...now tell me, how were you able to control a savage hell dog on your own?"
"I used some magic instruments...and a herb".
The king let out a menacing laughter and motioned to Dark with his head in Gaby's direction.
Dark approached him,placed a hand on his leg and began infusing some magic energy into him.
"I don't need your cursed magic energy"Gaby kicked his hand off.
Dark touched him again but this time gaby tried moving but couldn't, he felt his whole body grow numb as if he had lost control of it.
He could no longer move it or raise a limb.
"What....did...you do to me!"
"Struggling is futile....No one can defy gravity.....We both know you have the ability to control animals,that is exactly what you did to the hell dog....and for that reason I do have a special task for you".
Gaby's eye widened as he gulped in thick saliva...that was exactly what he did before the hell dog bonded with him and began obeying him,this was an ability Sheba had warned him never to mention to anyone but how could he tell?what exactly was he?
"I will help you with nothing!"Gaby groaned "let me go!"
"Your friend is alive,and you can only be together again if you do as I say"
Dark stepped away.
Gaby shock his head as he got to his feet with a frown on his face.
"Trick won't work on me ....I saw him die"He snapped but a young frame suddenly appeared from the shadows.
Gaby's jaw dropped as he caught sight of Farhat standing before him.
He walked towards Farhat but Dark blocked his way, making him step backwards again.
"If I help you...you will let him go"
"I Most definitely will"the king smiled.
"How do I know you will keep your words?"
The tall king slightly flexed his hip letting his eyes be at the same level with Gaby's as he stared into the young demon's eyes.
"You have clearly seen my face and I can assure you....a king never lies".
For a moment Gaby eyed Farhat who peered at him from behind Dark's huge frame before returning his gaze back to the king.
"What if I refuse?"Gaby said stubbornly.
"Then I'll kill him Infront of you...and kill you after that since you choose not to be useful to me".The king smirked.
Gaby gulped in saliva through his thin lips then his gaze travelled from Farhat then back to the King.
"What would you have me do?"
"At the Hunt tomorrow....Control the Alpha!".
