"You were simply existing and being you...how could I not?" Daniel finished with a smile that looked strange. The smile did not reach his eyes. He looked like he was trying to hide his hurt and pain.

Aubrianne just stared unblinkingly.

"But I am also your Beta, so you are stuck with me forever...because I am not going anywhere." And as those words left Daniel's lips, Aubrianne's eyes got slightly teary, and she got up and rushed over to him, giving him a big hug.
