Chương 5: I am Cain

(I am once again telling you that I will be going to 3rd person unless y'all want a chapter a month. But I may go to 1st person sometimes)

Flying above a snowy forest was a futuristic helicopter. "so why did we only hear about this now?" asked a man in a military uniform hearing the question the pilot turned around and looked at the shoulder after pressing a few buttons "well apparently a base around here got wiped out but when they searched they found nothing but dead body's and rubble." "so why are we going there now?" after hearing this the soldier was wondering why they would go to a round lab if it had already been searched.

"well apparently they were studying something there but when they searched the place they found nothing. But a few weeks ago local monster population plummeted from tens of thousands to just hundreds. Especially wolves"

Hearing this the soldier looked out and noticed that there was almost no life at all even though there were signs of it like nests in the trees and paths of trampled ground. " so they think it got out and is killing everything around?"

"yep, and we're here to find it and if possible bring it in so they can study it."

Meanwhile in a case deep in the forest, a boy that looked about 16 to 17 was walking up. After getting up the boy looked over to the small fox carving that sat on a rock nearby "morning, Alice." getting up Cain put on a coat made out of various pelts and walked out of the cave "ill have to have Move soon. The prey is running out." talking to himself heard a noise above him.

Looking up he saw the helicopter. "Guess they came for me huh" looking back cain sighed "I'll miss this place." picking up a fur bag Cain put his fox carving as well as some other carvings and a bone knife in the bag and began to Change his hand to claws and climbed so they could reach the hill on top

Back in the helicopter, the soldier saw Cain on the hill and signals the pilot to fly down. After landing he walked over to the boy but before he could talk Cain said "hello" looking at the soldier he raised his hands and said "you came looking for me right? Here I am." seeing what he assumed to be a native the man looked at Cain confusedly and said "what?" overhearing the boy the pilot came out and asked "are you 0-prime?" while holding a knife ready in case.

Shaping his head to look at the pilot Cain said in a beastly voice "I am Cain." hearing the voice of the boy the soldier drew his sword and pointed it at him "you said we were looking for you, Yes?" looking back at the man Cain said, "that's right." "so you're from that have over there?" hearing his answer the man pointed his sword over to what used to be Cains's old home "that's right." hearing Cains answer soldier finally asked, "so you were what they were studying?" so Cain said "yes. I am" and to answer he grew his horns and tail which he kept hidden to look so he could talk peacefully to the people who had come looking for him.

Seeing him grow new body parts at ease the soldier said "ok, Cain. Your gonna hart to come with us. My name is Adam and the man next to me is named able." hearing this Cain walked over to the helicopter, and sat in a seat "were going, yes?" seeing that the boy would cooperate Adam put his sword away and hopped next to Cain "we can go now, yes?" nodding Adam signaled to able to start the helicopter.

After about an hour Cain asked, "where are we going?" looking over Adam said, "we're headed to a lab base so that we can study you." after saying this both he and Cain stayed quiet. After about another hour Cain asked, "could you tell me about the world where on?" looking over at the boy Adam spoke, "we are currently on defense planet 72 sector 6 of the human galactic empire or the HGE this planet's main job is to contain and study foreign invaders so that we can better understand them." looking back angrily able said "oy, Adam. I don't think you should be telling it all this." looking back Adam said "he's been nice and he just wanted to know where he is. and it's not like he could escape, this place is both a prison and a science lab for the HGE."

Quickly looking out the side of the helicopter Cain showed a beastly smile and said "prey." hearing what he said Adam asked, "what do you mean?" standing up Cain pointed out over to a flock of big black crows and once again spoke "prey." and jumped out "OY, KID!" looking over the edge he saw Cain grow large bat-like wings and fly towards the crows.

Seeing fresh meat in front of him Xain couldn't hold back and flew towards his targets. Something Cain had developed during his stay in the forest was a love for battle, that and a bloodlust that could rival a demon. Seeing something dare to near it and its flock the head crow began sending blades of wind from its wings toward the enemy.

Using his wings Cain dodged the blades and lengthens his tail while revealing his claws. After getting close enough to the crow can twist his body so he was standing state up and swung his tail at the crow's wing, trying to dodge the crow turned its body to the side but before it could fly away Cain dashed into t and grabbed its wing before tearing them out and grabbing the crow with his tail so he could carry it to the helicopter.

After flying back to the helicopter he looked at Adam while pointing to the crow and said "mine." before opening his mouth like a snake while his teeth extended and bit into it before sucking. at a speed that the man could see the blood began to drain from it once Cain finished he repeated it with the wings before biting back into it but instead of sucking he tore a chunk of meat out of its body and swallowed it whole until the whole body even the bones were gone, but unlike when he used to eat he didn't fell his body break and reform so it could fit in the new body matter. Instead, it changed adapted, and optimized its form with the new data from the food.

Looking at the boy he saw its wings disappear and his tail shrink before his body began to change, his hair became darker disturbingly similar to the crow's feathers while his eyes seemed to become sharper and clearer while his nails/claws turned dark black as they had been polished. But the most disturbing thing that happens was that his mana signature, something that all things had and could not change, began to ever so slightly shift from its previous form and add the crow's signature as if he had taken its very existence and added it to himself seamlessly.

Looking on in pure shock and horror the soldier questioned more to the space around him than Cain "what the hell are you?" and as if he was waiting for that he turned around and said, "I am Cain."
