Chương 25: a new start

after finishing his new body, cain broke out of his cocoon. just as he did, however, the lightning shot down from the sky. 'nice, I was feeling a little hungry.' looking up cain opened his mouth ready to swallow the lightning. as it struck him he used his newly upgraded mana veins to absorb it and use it for his primal growth slowing him to fully refine his bones and begin on his muscles as well and starting on the second ring of mana around his heart.

if one were to look at cain's bones they would see faint lightning patterns on them and his first mana ring had the same black and silver tint as the lightning that he ate. cain realised this too as when he hatched his soul fused with his body perfectly, allowing him to sense all changes in his body, both normal and magical. the changes in his bones and mana ring were thanks to his newly upgraded mana heart, thanks to the addition of the mana pearl his body could naturally absorb attributes such as lightning and add them to his body such as the patterns on his bones of the colour of his mana ring.

standing up cain realised that he was naked "this won't do, if I go back to school like this ill be kicked out. can't let that happen." quickly adding some changes to his skin he added the ability to use mana to form threads like a moth or spider, but unlike a moth or spider he could change how the treads he made worked. such as changing their colour or thickness or how soft or rough they were.

quickly using his new adaptation he formed a uniform just like the one given by the academy, an added bonus was that the thread had the same properties as his hair meaning they were heat and cold-resistant as well as resistant to shape objects. after making sure that his new cloaths were the same as his old ones, he began to move towards the academy.

using his newly gained strength and control he was able to move much faster than before as he didn't need to worry about running out of stamina or crashing into something. he could even use the MG's to move faster, but that was unnecessary right now. getting closer to the academy he was analysing how his new body actually worked and performed compared to his simulations as testing and simulation were one thing, but real-life experience was another.

getting closer to the academy the forest began to shift from its dead state that he hatched into a more healthy one. "damn, I really did a number on this place." "you really did." looking up I saw Richerd and the principal, "nice of your selves to show your selves." floating down from the sky the principal began to speak "you don't seem surprised about us being here." now standing in front of him a said "I would be a failure of a beast if I couldn't sense that danger that you where radiating right now, speaking of which, could you reign that in, please? I'm having trouble circulating my mana." slightly surprised at my change in personality Richerd spoke this time. "and how can we trust you? considering what just happened. how do we know you are the cain we knew? and that you won't do that again?"

understanding their alertness cain said "I'm sure you know about souls. and that even if I wanted to I couldn't hurt yours, so if you let your mental barriers down a little I could send the knowledge you want, I don't really want to explain everything because I want to just get home, lay down, and sleep like a dead man, I'm exhausted."

still sceptical of cain they lowered their mental barriers just enough to let him in but still lock him out if he tried anything. after receiving the answers they wanted they both just stood there, shocked. even though he had kept out some things like how he could control the parasite and most of his abilities the amount of new information they received was shocking. still, thanks to their strength they recovered fast. waking up from their daze both Richerd and the principal said "is all of this true?" in unplanned unison. "100%"

"Alright, we can trust you. for now. return to your dorm room and rest, elective and combat classes start in the morning." after saying thank you to the principal, cain returned to his room, seeing Seth asleep he just hopped in his bed before doing the same.

walking up early in the morning, cain and Enoch were planning their future while he was training with his new body to fully get used to it as he could not fully control it like he would like to. 'so, seeing as thanks to the updated mana heart I can add attributes to my training levels, how should i continue with this. all lightning? or more attributes such as earth and such? and if we go for more what elements should I use? and for what stage in growth?' {i think we should continue with more elements. as for what ones, we should use one that will complement said body part. seeing as we are currently training muscles I thing we should use fire as it would add an explosive element to them and it will pare well with our lightning.

on the topic of lightning, i think we should find a way to change the attribute it has. if we find a way to transfer an attribute from one body part to another we could add a metal or earth attribute to our muscles and swap it with the lightning so our bones have the metal or earth and our muscles have lightning.}

hearing Enoch's plan cain had a thought. 'i could reabsorb the bones and muscles' bio-mass along with their attributes and use it to from the other.' {that might work.} "angh..." stoping his training cain looked over to see Seth rolling over on his bed, looking over at the clock he realised that it was almost time for his first class, mana studies. changing his cloaths from shorts and a singlet back to the normal school uniform cain began to wake Seth up.

"oy, lazy bones. get up, it's almost time for our first class." punning the blanket over his head Seth grumbled "five more minutes..." seeing that the easy way wasn't going to work he went with the hard way. "been wanting to see if I could add that lightning to my mana since I got it, let's see if this works."

pulling the smallest and weakest part of the lightning he could so he didn't hurt his friend. cain controls the flow of mana to the end of his index finger before poking Seth. "argh!" once his finger was close enough a small spark flew off from his finger and struck the sleeping not so beauty. "what the hell was that for man?! ahh, that hurt."

"Good, now get ready. class starts soon." looking over at the clock Seth freaked out. "what the hell man? you should have woken me up!" enjoying his newly found emotions cain looked smugly over at Seth before saying "that was me waking you up." looking at his friend he seemed to have awoken his orc bloodline. he was slightly taller had had much more visible muscle mass compared to cain, but cain was still stronger as his muscle mass was of higher quality and was more compact compared to his friends.

after getting changed into his new uniform, his old one no longer fit him, Seth looked over at cain before flexing his muscles and gloating "thanks to my bloodline awakening ill finally be able to beat you in an arm wrestle." giving a blank stare at his friend cain just said, "did you forget that I had a bloodline to?" showing of his newly formed figure cain also began to flex showing of highly compact and powerful muscles. arm wrestling was one of the things that cain and Seth competed in on the regular, they also did sprints, high and long jump as well as just some regular weight lifting competitions.

they were actually well known for it in the school as Seth's orcish bloodline gave him monstrous strength making him one of the strongest fiscally in the school while cains small figure holding up things dozens of times his weight with ease was something that some people would use as entertainment as the school didn't have any besides books. some would even bet on how much cain could lift. his record was 100 pull-ups with 300 kilos strapped to him.
