After a lot of coaxing, she was finally able to send off the troublesome little devil. She waved at him next to her door, watching his retreating back.
"Ahhh, now I'm feeling guilty deceiving him like this," she scratched her head and walked inside. She swiftly packed all her stuff she might need and softly cupped Fynn in her hands.
"Baby, mommy and you are going to travel far. I hope you can wake up soon," she mumbled and placed him softly in her pocket. She even placed a soft nest of fur she found under him to keep him warm and cozy.
By afternoon a summon came from her father. She held all her bags and rushed out. There was one guarding him, and there was not even a single sighting of servants on the way. She knew that this was her father's way of protecting the news of her departure, yet still she felt quite lonely.
Shaking away her turbid feeling, she cheerfully rushed over. It was finally the day where she could learn magic. Even though the thought of fighting with a sword was appealing, it was to taxing on her body. She rarely trained properly, so her skills were also mediocre.
"Either way, i will have a trump card under my sleeve after my travel," she cheerfully laughed as she ran around.
She softly knocked on her father's room and he quickly usher her inside. This was his personal room, not his study. Usually his mother and father stayed together, but when she had to travel, he usually stayed in this room.
"Meet your uncle, Lumian." Rukle gestured to a man facing away from her, glancing out the window. His exposed back was straight as a rod. Mostly because of his military training he received.
The man slowly turned around, exposing half of his handsome face. His top half of his face was covered in a mask. "Come here," he summoned her over.
Nodding at her father, Ambai walked over to him. The window was directly facing the outskirt town. It was flourishing, even after so many attacks on it.
"What do you see?" he whispered.
"The outskirt town," she said, gazing up at him. He was towering above her. Almost he looked like a giant next to her small form.
Uncle Lumian gazed down. "Wrong. Tell me. What do YOU see?"
Ambai gazed back out the window. 'He must be testing for something. Did i mess something?' she peered out but she could only see her serene forest with its inhabitants happily living there.
"Trees? Forest....and people," she whispered doubtfully.
"What people?" he urged her further.
"Miriafa country men and women," she said, gazing up at him. it seemed to be wrong answer because uncle Lumian sighed loudly.
"Wrong again. Look carefully, they are YOUR people. As far as this forest stretches, they are all YOUR subjects and you failed to realise that."
Ambai gazed back at her father and gulped. It looked like uncle Lumian was a strict teacher. But what he said was true, these people were her people, and she never thought of it that way. She only thought of this world as a task, a burden, but....it was not. As soon as she entered this world though Erudite, it had already become her second life and she should have taken it seriously.
But she treated it more like a game. She selfishly tried to protect only herself but failed to notice so many people depending on her for safety.
'If I have to pass this world, I have to become Erudite. The prince of Miriafa, not Ambai, a nobody who lived in the modern world,' she thought. Suddenly her entire body felt light and the small glow around her became more pronounced.
It became more like white pearly colour and emitted a strong fragrance of Daffodils. It was quite overwhelming for her.
It was as if her whole soul had been set free from its restrains.
Touching her soft cotton like glow around her she gazed up at her uncle. He had a small grin around the corner of his lips.
"Good work, little Eru. You have passed the first test."
"So you WERE testing me?" Ambai whispered.
"Hmm, if you were a prince who does not even care about his own people I do not wish to train you even if your father had begged me to. Since it was not the case, call me master Lumian," he said with a proud look.
Ambai instantly knelt and shouted, "Master, give me your blessings,"
Uncle Lumian softly held her shoulders and raised her up. After doing so, he happily chatted with her father about something else.
While Ambai stood by the window and gazed out. 'From today I would not be called Ambai, I will officially become Erudite, a prince of Miriafa,' she thought with her palm clenched.
This....it might be the key to satisfy Erudite's soul. That way she would be able to get her soul fragment.
