Rebus cringed a bit, scratching the new bite mark on his neck. The bite was the most painful injury he had ever had in his life. It felt like acid was burning trough his veins.
"Eitan..." Alad pulled his hands away from his neck. "What are you doing?"
"what?" he glanced at him confusedly.
Alad sighed and held out his Rebus's hands close to his face. "You opened up the wound again," he wiped his bloody fingertips with a clean cloth and continued to dab it on his now bleeding wound.
"Is something on your mind?"
Rebus just glanced at his fingertips with his eyes dull. "It burns...."
Alad paused. "What burns, Eitan?" but his friend did not say anything more. "You can trust me and tell me anything. I will help you get a solution. I might not be a god or a goddess, but I have been said to give good advice, you know," he playfully patted his shoulders.
Rebus just glanced down at him with an expressionless look. "This bite burns... it hurts..."
