"Mr. Alexander -" Evangeline started but Alexander's gaze was now fixated on the boy who tried to touch her.
"Hey! Who the heck are you?! Have you lost your mind? Do you know who is his father?" One of the boys said, and Alexander looked back to Evangeline, who was biting her lips in nervousness.
"I don't. Enlighten me," Alexander stepped towards Evangeline, his still twisting the boy's hand as he used his other hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ears, making her gulp.
Her gaze trembled, a clear question in them- what are you doing?
"Sir," Alexander's secretary walked behind him, feeling nervous as his boss was getting angry because of these teenagers who can't even hold their tea let alone a gun.
"I am still waiting for an answer. Who the hell is his father? Let me know so that I can shut down his business for touching what's mine," Alexander's gaze was fixated on Evangeline when he said before he shifted his gaze to the boys.
"Who I am you asked. I am the new owner of this cafe, and I definitely don't like when someone threatens my possessions. You want to shut it down? Try it. Even I would like to see who has the guts to go against the Cane empire," Alexander said.
Though he was still holding the boy's hand and twisting it, he didn't move any muscle any further. He could've bashed this boy for humiliating his staff earlier, but he didn't want to stoop to their level.
"C-cane empire?" The boys stuttered and looked at each other while Alexander smirked at Evangeline who looked away from his eyes.
"If you have handled the things here, I'll go behind the counter," Evangeline whispered under her breath, and Alexander smirked, liking how she was all fidgety and nervous in from of him.
"I hope you guys won't create a problem," Alexander left his hand, making the boy groan in pain.
He sighed, wanting to go back to his table to read his presentation again, and the secretary who noticed that his boss didn't do much damage, sighed in relief.
"My hand! My hand!" The boy shouted when he noticed how badly it was twisted and Alexander rolled his eyes, turning around.
"Everything happened because of this b*tch!" The boy shouted before he grabbed a glass to smash on Evangeline's head.
Evangeline turned around when she sensed the danger and was about to kick the boy away to save herself, but before her leg could even touch the boy, he was pulled back and slammed on the table, his head smashed on the table, making the wooden furniture break.
Evangeline looked at the scene in horror, her hands flying to her mouth.
"I really hate it when they stand up like pests and don't understand the warnings in one single go," Alexander jerked his hand away, and Evangeline narrowed her eyes when she noticed a wooden piece piercing his hand, the dripping blood, making her sigh.
"What are you guys waiting for? Take him the hell away from here if you don't want him to be dead today," she shouted at those shocked boys before she walked to Alexander and held his hand.
"The hell is wrong with you?! I was dealing with it, wasn't I? Who asked you to get hurt?" She shouted at him.
The secretary, who has never seen anyone raise their voice at his boss and surviving, widened his eyes when his boss smiled at the girl rather than becoming angry.
"Are you worried about me, Miss Cutey?" Alexander asked, and Evangeline glared at him before taking him to another table.
"Do we have a first aid box here?" She asked, and Mia rushed to the changing room before bringing the first aid box.
"Evangeline, what are you -"
"Just shut your mouth and let me treat you, okay?" Evangeline gritted her teeth.
She can't believe that she is the one who is cleaning his wounds and putting ointment on his wounds, the member of the same family, a brother in the same trio that ruined her life terribly.
"I am not stopping you from treating me. In fact, I really like this version of you. The version who is scared for me and wants to treat me," Alexander smirked, pulling his hand back, making her jerk forward, and she looked at him from under her lashes, her eyes wide.
"You got wounded because you were trying to protect me and standing for me. That's why I am worried about you, and nothing more," Evangeline blew air on his wounds as she wiped them clean.
It was as if he was looking at a beautiful artifact. That's what his gaze was saying as he kept looking at her doing her work.
"Are you accident-prone? Was the wound on your left arm not enough that you had to get another one? And how the hell were you able to move your hand so much after that wound? You are impossible," Evangeline rambled, making him smirk.
He leaned forward and grabbed her jaws with his free hand, pulling her face, making her jerk forward, and Evangeline looked at him wide-eyed when she noticed how their faces were only an inch apart.
She could see his gaze moving to her lips, and she instinctively bit them, gulping in nervousness.
"Mr. Alexander -"
"How many times do I need to tell you that I am not impossible? Should I demonstrate to you now?" He rubbed her lower lip with his thumb, shocking her and his secretary who immediately turned around, not wanting to be seen looking at his boss being intimate with a girl.
"You want to demonstrate it to me?" Evangeline asked, and Alexander smiled, knowing all too well she was coming up with some kind of retort now.
"Well, I would love to, but not today. As you can see, I am quite wounded and I am a man who loves to take control," Alexander winked at her, his indication clear, and heat rose to her cheeks.
"Mr. Alexander!" She shouted.
"Yes, cutey?" He asked, smiling brazenly, and she gritted her teeth before closing the first aid box once she was done and leaving.
