90% DC: Supreme Vision / Chapter 9: Where He Belongs!

Chương 9: Where He Belongs!

Vision barely had time to react as Diana lunged forward with lightning speed. Her fist shot toward him with precision, aiming for his chest, a massive amount of force behind it.

On pure instinct, Vision twisted his body, dodging the punch by a hair's breadth. A surprised expression on his face as he didn't expect Diana to attack so suddenly.

The force of the wind generated by her movement hit him like a small shockwave, reminding him just how formidable she was. His mind raced, trying to recall the various fighting techniques he'd absorbed in his scan of the library.

Thousands of years of combat history and martial knowledge allowed him to understand the style of combat Diana was using and how to counter it.

However, Vision had none of the real-world battle experience that Diana possessed in abundance, and was using it to defeat him.

"Focus, Vision," he told himself, "Analyze her movements."

Diana wasted no time, pressing her advantage. She followed her first strike with a rapid combination of punches and kicks, each one expertly aimed at his weak points to defeat him swiftly and efficiently.

Vision's movements were jagged and stiff occasionally. It was the first time he fought, and he was currently burning the various muscle memory into his mind. His Superhuman physical capabilities were the only things keeping him from being overwhelmed by her.

Vision managed to block a few blows, but the force behind each hit was staggering, forcing him backwards. Diana wasn't holding back, and Vision realized she had no intention of giving him an easy start.

This wasn't just training, it was a test. She was gauging his instincts, his adaptability, and his ability to think under the pressure of high-intensity combat.

Vision stumbled backward, but quickly caught his balance. His body moved faster than his thoughts, parrying one of her kicks and attempting a counterstrike. His fist shot out toward her midsection, but Diana effortlessly deflected it with her forearm and retaliated with a swift elbow to his ribs.

The impact was solid, sending him skidding back a few feet, but it wasn't enough to take him down.

"You're fast," Diana remarked, her voice even as she circled him, her movements graceful yet predatory. "But speed alone won't help you if you're not anticipating your opponent's next move."

Vision nodded, "I'm still getting used to it… processing everything."

Diana tilted her head slightly. "Stop thinking so much. Rely on instinct. Muscle Memory, you need to burn all that combat knowledge into yourself. You've absorbed the knowledge, but now you need to let your body guide you."

She lunged at him again, this time with a series of quick jabs aimed at his face. Vision blocked the first two, but the third slipped through, grazing his jaw.

He spun to avoid the follow-up, using the momentum to deliver a low sweep kick aimed at her legs. Diana leaped over it effortlessly, landing with feline grace as she prepared for another strike.

This time, Vision was ready. Instead of retreating, he met her advance head-on, ducking under her punch and launching a knee toward her stomach.

Diana blocked it with her forearm, but Vision followed up with an elbow aimed at her shoulder. It wasn't perfect, but it was an improvement.

The fight continued with Vision battling with Diana. The various knowledge he learned was being absorbed rapidly, he was becoming more fluid, more adaptive, more reactive. His understanding of real combat was rapidly improving as he was analyzing Diana's combat and improving.

Diana smiled, clearly pleased that he was starting to adapt. It had only been a short time, but his improvement was extremely rapid and noticeable.

"Good. You're learning. But remember—" Diana said, quickly grabbing his arm mid-strike and twisted it behind his back, "—in a real fight, hesitation can be deadly."

Vision tried to react, but Diana was more experienced and faster, she swept his legs out from under him, and he crashed to the ground. He barely had time to register the fall before Diana was on top of him, her knee pressing lightly against his chest. She had him pinned.

"You've got power, Vision," she said, her tone firm but not unkind, "But you need to sharpen your instincts. It's your first fight, and you improved a-lot, but it's not enough."

Vision, catching his breath, nodded in agreement. Despite the intensity of the training, he felt an odd sense of exhilaration.

Every movement, every block, every strike, he was learning, improving. His mind, while vast, was still catching up to his body's abilities, and Diana was pushing him to close that gap.

Diana released him, stepping back and allowing him to rise. "Again," she said, beckoning him with a motion of her hand, "This time, trust your body. Don't overthink."

Vision got to his feet, feeling more focused than before. He took a deep breath, letting the tension drain from his body, and then mirrored her stance.

He could feel the clones in his Mind-Scape sorting through the techniques he'd just seen, analyzing every aspect of the fight, but this time he quieted the flood of information.

Instead of relying on his mental prowess, he focused on the moment, focusing on improving his reflexes and battle senses.

Diana came at him once more, faster this time, but Vision was ready. He sidestepped her punch, ducking under her sweeping kick and retaliating with a palm strike to her shoulder.

She blocked it with ease, but Vision flowed into the next move, following up with a swift kick aimed at her ribs. The fight continued on, and Vision's body was adapting, moving almost on its own, reacting faster than his thoughts.

For the first time, he wasn't just thinking about the fight, he was in it.

Diana's eyes gleamed with approval as they continued to spar,"Much better, Vision," she said between strikes. "Now you're fighting."

The Amazons who had been sparring nearby stopped their own spars and began to gather, watching with interest as Vision held his own against their princess.

The clashing of their movements became a rhythm, the sound of flesh meeting flesh, feet hitting the ground, and the occasional grunt of effort filling the air.

After what felt like hours, Diana suddenly called for a halt, raising her hand. Vision, panting and covered in a thin sheen of sweat, straightened up. His muscles ached, but it was a good kind of pain, the kind that told him he was getting stronger.

"You've done well for your first session," Diana said, offering him a smile.

Vision nodded, grateful for her guidance, "Thank you," he said, his voice steady despite the exhaustion he felt, "I'm ready for whatever comes next."

Diana nodded, her expression softening, "You've made good progress today. We'll continue to push your limits, both physically and mentally." Diana said.

As the sun began to set behind the mountains, casting a golden glow over the island, Vision realized something important: for the first time since awakening, he felt like he was on the right path, a path where he could truly belong.
