Kara had spent three years traveling the world, of which she only needed one to visit famous masters of various disciplines recommended by Bruce Wayne. Like Bruce, Kara had mastered all the martial arts and fighting styles known to man.
However, Bruce was unaware that Kara was hiding a much greater secret. She was not just a combat expert; she was a Kryptonian who had lived on Earth for twenty-eight years. After absorbing the yellow sunlight for so long, her strength was unmatched. Her power exceeded imagination.
This power also allowed her to move with astonishing speed, enabling her to eliminate one of the League of Shadows members in an instant with just a kick.
The League of Shadows was not a weak enemy, but they faced Kara. In the blink of an eye, she delivered a kick to the first fighter, and before he even hit the ground, she connected a second kick to another combatant.
Her attack was fluid, fast, and devastating. The others stood frozen, unable even to react.
Kara turned around and looked at the remaining group, and with a voice distorted by a voice changer, she roared, "Tonight... you will be hunted."
At that moment, she seemed more like a hunter than a heroine. Those warriors who had brought fear and destruction to so many were now her prey.
The members of the League exchanged glances, and though no one would say it aloud, they could all see the fear in each other's eyes. But they were the best fighters, and even in the face of danger, they remained composed, showing no signs of wanting to flee.
Even as Kara walked toward them.
A second ago, she had been far away, but in a blink, she became a shadow and appeared right in front of one of them. Kara barely glanced at the fighter beside her, as if he weren't worth her attention.
She had just used a kicking technique, but now she employed another discipline: Wing Chun.
Wing Chun is characterized by its changing movements, flexibility, and its ability to generate power in short distances. No one could see Kara's fist, and although the space between her and her target was minimal, she unleashed tremendous force. When her palm struck the warrior's chest, his heart shattered in an instant.
Kara quickly moved to the next opponent.
By this point, there was no one who posed a real threat to her. Bruce had already boarded the train, speeding away, while all the others were incapacitated from the poison released by the League of Shadows.
Finally, Kara could fight at her full potential.
And it was terrifying. At her top speed, even these warriors couldn't keep up. She used every skill she had learned over her years of training.
The League of Shadows tried to stop her, but there was no hope. Kara darted left and right, neutralizing each one of them before the others had time to react. She even decided to stop using complicated techniques, feeling it was a waste of time against opponents who were merely ordinary humans compared to her power.
One by one, Ra's al Ghul's men fell to Kara's overwhelming force.
When she reached the last one, he could no longer bear the pressure and shouted, "Who are you? Your strength is not human! What are you?"
The man was right. Kara possessed power that was beyond human understanding.
"Tonight... all of you will die," Kara said, her voice low and threatening, distorted by the voice changer. The warrior faltered, his will wavering in the face of Kara's imposing presence.
But somehow, he stood his ground: "Ra's al Ghul is immortal."
Kara smiled coldly. "There is no such thing as immortality in this world. Even the most powerful beings fall. What do humans know about the vastness of the universe? Have you ever heard of Apokolips? The Wall of Origin? The infinite multiverse? Higher-dimensional beings? Even the oldest gods can perish. How dare you speak of immortality? The universe itself will perish someday, and you think a mere human life can be eternal?"
The man showed surprise. It was indeed the first time he had heard such concepts.
But he had no time to process it. Kara seized him by the neck, and with a simple twist, it snapped with a 'crack.'
"Not even a planet as powerful as Krypton could survive. No one lives forever... unless they transcend everything," Kara murmured, a fierce determination shining in her eyes.
She was not worried about being overheard, as there were no living souls nearby. Besides, she had checked her combat suit, inspired by Batman, and found no listening devices.
One should not underestimate Kara's intelligence. She had spent four years obsessively studying at university. If she wanted, she could obtain any academic degree with ease. However, she did not do it for show. All the knowledge she had gained was to prepare herself for any unexpected situation.
For instance, in this crisis in Gotham, if it weren't for Bruce's plans, she would have already found the best way to defeat Ra's and his gang. She had even noticed flaws in the microwave emitter just from listening to a brief introduction to its operation.
It was evident to her that any humans close to the device should have been the first to evaporate, including Ra's al Ghul.
But those complaints were useless.
Thanks to her vast knowledge, Kara was not afraid of any traps Bruce might have set in the suit. That was why she felt so relaxed.
Casually discarding the body of her last enemy, Kara bent down to pick up a long knife from one of the fallen warriors.
From her previous knife-throwing techniques, it was clear that Kara also mastered the use of weapons. Besides her hand-to-hand combat skills, she had trained with swords, spears, axes, and various other types of weapons from around the world.
Gripping the knife, Kara looked in the direction of the train that was pulling away. Thanks to her enhanced vision, she could see clearly what was happening inside the train, undisturbed by Gotham's fog.
Bruce was fighting Ra's al Ghul and some of his best men, but he was clearly at a disadvantage. After all, he didn't have Kara's Kryptonian resilience.
Kara twirled the knife in her hand and said slowly, "The cycle of life and death never ends... We live, they die."
With those words, Kara jumped into the air and flew toward the train, ready to intervene in the final battle.
