Chương 27: Chapter 27 - Predatory Eyes
With the remnants of the fallen Moon Bear in his possession, Skalain made his way back to Red Copper Town. The weight of the creature's remains pressed against his back, a physical reminder of the battle he had fought and the spoils he had earned.
As he walked through the forest, the sun casting dappled shadows on the path before him, Skalain's mind churned with thoughts and plans. He knew that he needed a moment of respite to rest and recuperate, to gather his strength, and to devise a more strategic approach to his hunting endeavors.
Upon his return to Red Copper Town, Skalain sought refuge in the comfort of the Black Beer Inn, the place he had chosen as his temporary home. He entered the inn, the door creaking softly as he stepped inside, the familiar aroma of ale and roasted meat filling the air.
"I will sell the Moon Bear parts tomorrow night."
"I will rest and then look for a spell that will help me find creatures or living animals in general."
Skalain sat alone in his room at the Black Beer Inn, a plate of steaming food before him. As he savored each bite, his mind was consumed with thoughts of his ongoing hunt. He knew that he needed an advantage, something that would enable him to track down elusive creatures with greater ease.
"If not, the time is not enough for me to gather the needed coins for the Shard of a Void Stone".
Flicking through the pages of his tomes, Skalain's eyes scanned the ancient texts, searching for a spell that would aid him in his quest. His heart quickened with anticipation as he stumbled upon a passage describing a spell known as "Predatory Eyes."
"Predatory eyes," he whispered to himself, the words lingering in the air. "If this spell lives up to its name, it could be exactly what I need."
Skalain's fingers traced the intricate symbols and incantations inscribed on the page. He could feel the dark energy resonating from the text, as if it yearned to be unleashed.
"If not for the Master Language spell, I would have no chance to learn this spell from the tomes without any kind of sophisticated and official training."
Closing his eyes, Skalain allowed his mind to wander, envisioning himself casting the spell. He could almost feel the surge of power as his eyes became engulfed in swirling darkness and his vision sharpened, attuned to the faintest signs of life in the wilderness.
"Oh, I do understand why it is called Predatory Eyes."
Skalain murmured.
"This spell will grant me the ability to see beyond what others can perceive," he mused, a glimmer of excitement in his voice. "With predatory eyes, no creature will be able to hide from me. Their trails will be revealed, guiding me to their very doorstep. At least it is what it says in the tome."
Skalain's thoughts raced, contemplating the possibilities.
"It can be said that this spell not only helps me to find creatures, it also helps me to locate other mages as well as living creatures."
"Basically a spell to enhance the eyes to find out the living things. It travels up to five kilometers, which is sufficient for me."
"I will be a force to be reckoned with," he declared, a hint of determination in his tone. "No longer will creatures elude me in the vastness of the Silent Water Forest. I will be their predator, tracking them down with unwavering precision."
A sense of anticipation filled Skalain's being as he devoured the remaining food on his plate. He knew that his journey was far from over, but with the acquisition of the Predatory Eyes spell, he had taken a significant step forward in his pursuit of power and mastery over the magical arts.
As he finished his meal, Skalain's mind was consumed by thoughts of the challenges and triumphs that awaited him. With each passing day, his resolve grew stronger, and his hunger for knowledge and dominance burned ever brighter.
