--A couple of days after the confrontation--
The entire situation was put on the Edgerunners website which brought about two major pieces of information.
The first was the combat power of Edgerunners. The world thought they had a decent idea of it but the Edgerunners just keep getting more and more powerful. Seeing the Sandevistan and Berserker in action, the world saw that Edgerunners hadn't shown off all their tech which caused more waves to spread.
The second was the death of the Batfamily. Most of them had been killed and Batman had been taken away by the League due to his instability.
Because everyone learned this, they knew that New Gotham was up for grabs. Several factions rushed into it and began fighting over turf. While the battles were still going on, it seemed like the Joker was going to win it and turn it into Joker Town.
But that is not what we are focused on today. Instead, we are looking at a small island off the coast of South America.
Talia and her group stepped onto the sands of the island, only to be confronted by Ra's group. This was the first time the father and daughter had looked each other in the eye in the past month without blades at the other person's throat.
"Father."
"Daughter. How did you know about..."
"Lazarus Island and Grandmother being here? Because you have more traitors by your side than you realize."
Ra's grunted at the comment. He couldn't deny it since it was the truth. Talia beat him because she took him by surprise and with Jason's help but the main part was due to the large number of members that defected from the League of Assassins to the League of Shadows.
"Why are you here, Talia?"
Talia smirked at her father's question.
"Simple. I came to thank you in person."
Ra's was truly puzzled by this response.
"Thank me for what?"
"Don't pretend, Father. The number of people that could take that shot can be counted on one hand. You had Deathstroke impersonate Deadshot. You had him take out Dick Grayson. And then you had your other members deal with the last members of the Batfamily."
"And if I did?" Ra's neither admitted nor denied what Talia had said
"Then you have done me a favor. I have already retrieved their bodies and put them into the pit. I just need to bring my beloved back home with me now. And what shall his fragile mind say to me when I can provide him not only his old family but also a new one, a wife and son related to him by blood?"
Ra's saw the madness in his daughter's eyes. Ever since they had broken up all those years ago, Talia was still obsessed with Bruce. He was her one true love. And she was about to use his assassinations as a chance to get closer to her.
"I'll allow you to hide her and won't attack any of your members as long as you stay on this island. Think of it as a sanctuary. But if you leave, then it shall be fair game."
Talia turned around and walked back to the boats while her father looked at her in fear. She was truly the Daughter of the Demon.
Once Talia was gone, Vandal Savage and Mother Soul appeared.
"Has she fallen for the trap?" Vandal asked
"Hmm. Better than we expected. She's inviting that ticking bomb into her home," Ra's commented. He already knew his daughter would know that he had done it and clean up after him to make sure that nothing disturbed her plans. But she had too high of hopes for Bruce's mind.
After suffering such a shock, he would no longer be the man they knew. He had already fallen into the abyss. And there was no way for him to climb out of it.
---
Jason sat on the Kujira and was smiling to himself. He still couldn't believe it.
'Ra's actually went and did it? He has truly gone senile. If I killed Batman, then it may have ended there or all the attention would have gone to me.
But now that he lives, he will calm down eventually. And he will see the flaws in the trap you laid out. It will only be a matter of time until you are dealt with.'
Jason could easily tell that he was set up. He was hoping that he could make Batman fall slowly by using Dick, Barbara, and Alfred so that he would join his cause. Killing them would only make him Batman's enemy,
But more than that, Jason knew about the negative universes and the Dark Nights. Doing something like this would just get him a Batman who Laughs or Red Death or Dawn Breaker. None of those was a good option.
So after all the confusion and mess, Jason helped Talia take the bodies and sent ripperdocs to help repair the bodies. He could already see Batman was heading down a dark path so he wanted to get as much use out of him as he could before putting him down himself.
-Apokolips-
"That is the report, Lord Darkseid."
Granny Goodness bowed before Darkseid, waiting for his instructions. She had been watching over the chaos that Earth was experiencing for a while and figured that now would be a good time to strike. But the final decision rested on Darkseid himself.
A giant being sat on a throne. His figure was covered in shadows so it was hard to tell what he looked like. The only thing that one would be able to see was his size and his glowing red eyes.
"Send down Steppenwolf. Let him test the Edgerunner faction. If they price useful, then they may be used to help us stage our assault. If not.."
The glowing around Darkseid's eyes became even brighter.
"Of course, My Lord. Darkseid Is!"
"I am."
Unknown to everyone else, each person was making plans of their own. Each thought they had a hold over the situation and execute their master plan whenever they pleased.
