Chương 11: Ch 11: Choosing a Mission
After leaving his room, Li Feng immediately went toward the mission hall. It was located in one of the busiest parts of the sect so Li Feng was extra careful here. Actually he wanted to perfect his control of his current realm before coming out but after not giving him any missions related to outside for a few days, his system again gave him a mission to do a mission from the mission hall.
So Li Feng was actually forced to come out again. But he was already planning to do that anyway so he did not mind it too much. With his current strength, Li Feng was quite confident that he would be able to take care of any dangers limited to the realm of Qi gathering.
The part of the Blood Sea sect where Li Feng was currently staying was called the outer area. This was the most populated area of the sect and other than the elders, everyone disciple present here were not above the realm of Qi gathering.
That was because if a disciple was successful in breaking through to the foundation establishment realm, then his status in the sect would immediately improve and he would become an inner disciple. Inner disciples had access to better resources and had a high authority. They were capable of ordering around the outer disciples. Even if they ended up killing a few outer disciples, the sect higher ups would not mind it that much.
Those inner disciples had their own mission hall in the inner areas so they did not come to this outer area. That was the reason why Li Feng was able to have high confidence in keeping himself safe.
But he was still worried about some things. The most important concern that he had was about his battle experience. Even though he had raised his cultivation level by quite a bit, every fighting techniques that he had learnt were never used by him in a real fight. And that was a problem. A cultivator without any fighting experience would not be able to go far in the brutal world.
But Li Feng already had some plans in his mind to solve this problem and he was also planning to set up some things for that plan of his today. While thinking about those things, Li Feng had already reached the mission hall.
After entering it, Li Feng saw that there were various counters where disciples needed to go and had to ask what kind of jobs were available for them. Li Feng knew about this system and obediently stood in one of the counter lines.
When it was his time to ask for a mission, the male disciple who was handling the counter gave him a single look and handed him a bundle of paper. Li Feng was surprised as he had not said anything yet.
According to what he had heard from An Zhao and had read in the guide book, a disciple first needed to tell the person on the counter what kind of missions he wanted and only the he would be given papers with mission details written on it to choose from. But here, before Li Feng was able to say anything, he was already given mission papers and that surprised him.
Seeing the stunned look on Li Feng's face, the disciple who had given him the papers said with an irritated expression that today there were only this many missions available for a disciple who had not managed to sense the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and so he handed him all the missions. Understanding the situation, Li Feng quickly thanked the person and left the counter.
After leaving the counter, Li Feng started to check the available jobs. Most of the jobs were tasks which any normal person was able to do, like cleaning a certain place or giving foods to beasts. The disciples who were able to cultivate properly disdain this type of meager work and that was why non cultivator disciples like them were given these works.
After going through all the missions, Li Feng found three missions which were suitable for his current needs. Other missions either paid very little contribution points or were not something Li Feng was comfortable doing.
For example there was a job for cleaning spiritual beast excrements and it actually paid quite well. But Li Feng did not have any intention of taking that mission as it was too disgusting and dirty.
All three of the missions that he chose paid quite well because they were dangerous for disciples who had not cultivated yet but for Li Feng they were completely safe. So it was an easy choice for him. For the first mission he needed to become an alchemical tester. There were several materials in alchemy that had different effects on non cultivators compared to cultivators.
And that was why there was a need for disciples like Li Feng there. But most of the time no one dared to accept these missions as they were extremely dangerous. Even though these missions were the best paying among the missions that Li Feng saw among the missions available for that day.
With his Scared Divine Qi Li Feng was not scared of any poison and that was the only reason he was considering this mission. But after carefully thinking for some time he decided to reject this mission as it was too dangerous.
If he was given a very powerful poison and he was still able to stay alive after that, then that would be very suspicious. That was a risk that Li Feng was unwilling to take.
This was not a very unlikely situation as the value of disciples who had not managed to cultivate was the lowest. At the same time, the disciples who were able to practice alchemy had a very high value to the sect. So if they tried to kill a few non cultivating disciples, the sect would definitely not mind that at all.
So, Li Feng made the decision to not accept this mission. After making this decision, he looked at the remaining two suitable jobs.
