"Shit! That man must be happy!" Carlos said through gritted teeth.
Finally, Carlos came home empty-handed.
Of course, his heart was filled with disappointment.
"I won't give up, ever. Alice is mine! No one else's! What less a Masher like Felix!" Carlos fiercely, his hands still focused on the steering wheel.
***
Arriving at the house, Carlos saw the gate was open, and inside too there was Caroline's car parked.
"Ah, this woman again!" he said annoyed.
"Why did he have to be here?"
"Ugh... annoying!"
Carlos got out of his car in annoyance.
Celek!
"Hey, Carlos!" said Caroline with a friendly smile welcoming Carlos.
"Ah, you're here again!" Carlos grunted.
Instantly the smile that appeared on Caroline's lips seemed to change, now it was an annoyed expression that radiated.
"Why are you always cursing at me, anyway?" asked Caroline.
Carlos refused to answer, and he sauntered into the room.
"Carlos! Wait!" Caroline shouted.
Again the man did not respond. But there was no surrender for Caroline, the woman followed Carlos into the room.
The door that was almost closed by Carlos, was blocked by Caroline's hand.
"Wait! Let me in!" said Caroline.
"Who told you to come in?" asked Carlos sarcastically.
"Nothing! But I want to go inside!" Caroline answered.
"Go! Don't bother me again, Carol!"
"What?!"
"Yes! I want you to leave right now! Is it still not clear what I said!?" Carlos said.
He moved Caroline's hand, then closed the door tightly.
"Damn it!" squealed an emotional Caroline. The woman had no opening to enter.
Instead of going home, Caroline decided to stay at Carlos's.
And Caroline was forced to sleep on the sofa in the living room, while Carlos slept comfortably in the bedroom.
Love has blinded Caroline to the point where she can't tell the difference between good and bad, including snatching Carlos from Alice.
She also didn't care about the chill that ran through her bones.
Today it started snowing for the first time.
"Ah, damn it! Why is it so cold in this room?" said Caroline.
She saw the blanket lying on the washing machine.
"This can save me from the cold, well ... just a little," Caroline muttered as she reached for the thick blanket.
"A bit smelly, huh?" Caroline pursed her lips.
Then the woman lay down on the sofa with a thick, dirty blanket.
Even though at home she can sleep comfortably with a soft mattress and thick blanket that is clean and smells good.
The logic is not working properly.
And it was because of her love for Carlos.
*****
This morning Alice woke up early.
She couldn't sleep that night.
Of course, because she was afraid of bad dreams, he stayed up all night.
To fill the void, Alice opened a photo album of her childhood.
In the photo album, there are lots of memorable photos with her mother, there are also photos of her togetherness with Bella.
Alice looked at the gold necklace around her neck. And the photo was taken when she and Bella were teenagers.
They wear the same necklace.
"Alice!" Bella called out, and Alice gasped.
"Hi, Bella! I'm surprised!" snorted Alice.
"What are you doing?" Bella asked.
"I saw our old family photo album!" Alice replied and her lips smiled, "Back then, when Mom and Dad were still around, our lives were perfect, weren't they?" Alice's eyes began to water.
"Hey, enough! What are you talking about? They're at peace in heaven, Alice!" Bella insisted.
"Well... I know... it's just, that I'm missing them. Is missing them wrong?" Alice protested.
"Of course not! It's just that you—"
"Bella! That necklace—" Alice pointed at the gold necklace around Bella's neck.
"You still have the necklace?"
"Oww ... this?" Bella fingered the necklace pendant around her neck.
"I just found it again, and I put it on!" Bella replied with a smile.
"Ah, mine is unfortunately broken. Even though it was the only gift Mother gave me on my birthday ..." Alice said with a disappointed face.
"My birthday too!" Bella added.
"Oh, yes!"
They were both born in the same month, only the year and date were different.
So every birthday is always held at the same time.
"My necklace is still there, just broken at the chain," said Alice.
"And then?" Bella asked.
"The necklace is at Carlos' house, Bella!" Alice answered.
"Huh? Then you're going to take it?" she asked.
"Em... looks like I'll take it now!" said Alice as she hurried off.
"Hey! Alice!" Bella called, "are you sure you're going there?"
"Yeah, I'll be there! For my necklace!" Alice answered. Bella couldn't stop it either.
She was sure that Alice had thought carefully about this decision.
But just as she opened the door, at the same time Felix had just parked his car.
"Alice, where are you going?" asked Felix.
"Ah, thank goodness you came! Can you take me?" asked Alice.
"Where are you going?"
"To Carlos' house!"
"What?!" Felix looked surprised to hear that, "what are you doing there!" Felix's face suddenly changed.
"There's something I left behind, so I have to get it!" Alice answered.
"That so important, huh?"
"Of course! Because it's my mother's legacy!" Alice answered.
Felix was silent for a moment, he was reluctant to take Alice, especially to meet Carlos.
But he didn't want to disappoint Alice. What's more, it looked very precious to Alice.
"Why are you silent? You don't want to accompany me, huh?" Alice asked. "Okay, I'll go alone!" Alice hurried off.
"Wait!" Felix shouted, "let me take you, Alice," he said.
Alice smiled hearing that.
***
They rushed to Carlos' house.
Alice couldn't wait to get the necklace, if she didn't open the photo album, she'd probably have forgotten the most precious thing.
"Hopefully, my jewelry box didn't someone move it," Alice muttered.
***
Moments later, the car stopped right in front of Carlos' house.
Alice came out while smoothing her coat. It was really cold this morning. Snow is falling, although not too heavy.
Tok! Tok! Tok!
Alice knocked on the door of the house. This is the house she used to live in, unfortunately now she considers it to be someone else's house. If it weren't for the necklace, she probably wouldn't come to this house again.
Celek!
Someone opened the door, and Alice thought it was Carlos, but it was Caroline.
"Alice!" snapped Caroline, "what are you doing here?" asked Caroline with anger face.
Alice snorted in annoyance at the sight of Caroline, not jealous, it was just that she was sick of seeing her former best friend's cheesy attitude.
"Tch! You're at someone's house this morning! You don't have a home, huh?" Alice peeked a little at the sofa and saw a blanket that was still messy.
"Don't tell me you're sleeping on that couch? Carlos won't let you in, huh?" quipped Alice.
Caroline's eyes immediately sharpened.
To be continued.
