I wait for the Duke to fall asleep, and then I move closer to him. After all, his warmth is his biggest asset.
I've been thinking about the matter for a while. Yet, I still can't understand that someone as smart as Alexander, who can decipher a code in a few hours, can let his tongue slip like that.
That morning, he got up earlier than me, and he stayed in the room until I woke up as well. I thought he went back to bed after livening the fire, but he might have been up to decode my writing.
It was the second time he visited me, the night when I rejected him.
He read this Duchess's options and chose the one he liked more, this moron.
Too bad I can't continue to sulk just because my Duke is intelligent.
Only after waking up in the morning, I realise that Alexander succeeded in changing the topic of our conversation.
We've started the second volume long ago, and this chapter signs a month of continuous writing for me. Something I didn't know I was capable of until I tried.
I was planning, at the start, to end everything with about 100 chapters. However, as time passed, it seemed more and more rushed to do so.
I have so many questions to answer and, in 100 chapters (it means 10 chapters from here!), I wouldn't have had space for all the romance and clumsy flirting.
This second volume is actually harder than the first to write because it's here that the relationship between the leads develops. It happens slowly, and they conquer each other's heart bit by bit. It's more a battle for feelings than for power, even though we'll have the dark forces meddling their fingers in.
This author reads all the comments from their readers, and I'm amused to see how often you notice details that I thought wouldn't be noticed, how you guess or ask for something that is actually going to happen in a couple of chapters, how you make theories that often have some truth in them (my readers must be proficient in conspiracy theories).
Thank you for your support to those that vote and comment, thank you for your silent presence to those that read and don't leave a trace (except for the stats; I know you are there!).
Thank you all, because if this story is continuing, it's only because you all exist!
