"Why is it important for me to attend this event, mother?" Bai Liyue questioned.

Hearing the tone of doubt in her daughter's voice, Mei Lin's eyes flashed. She bit her lips, moved her eyes away, and sighed in her heart. Previously, tonight's event was nothing special. It was just the celebration of the success of an organization she created to help orphans across the country. 

However, last night, her husband changed a few plans. He added something to these events, which shocked her. She felt that it was highly unnecessary for him to do so, yet, her husband remained stubborn. Looking at him, she knew that he wasn't going to change his mind so she could only cooperate with him and see that things go accordingly.
