Chương 3: Chapter 3: Against the Private Army

The next day, two jeeps from the private army rolled up to the site where the bodies of their fallen comrades lay. The vehicles came to a halt, and the soldiers disembarked, their expressions a mix of curiosity and dread. One soldier, surveying the scene, said, "This is not good. There's an enemy here."

Another soldier, nodding in agreement, replied, "I think so." As they examined the area, one of them spotted a bullet shell. Bending down, he picked it up and scrutinized it closely. "This shell is from a rifle," he announced.

The other soldier, looking concerned, asked, "What kind of rifle?"

"Remington Model 700," the first soldier replied. The soldiers exchanged wary glances. They now understood that they weren't alone on the island; someone else was out there. It wasn't another army, but a lone hunter, stealthy and dangerous, moving through the jungle.

The two jeeps returned to the main base located atop the highest mountain, the heart of Grimlock's operations. This base was a hub of activity where troops were stationed, new recruits were trained, and resources were managed. It was the brainchild of their ruthless leader, Draven Grimlock.

Upon arrival, the soldiers headed straight to the office of their commander, a man just below Draven in rank. They delivered their unsettling report. "Sir, we have a problem," one of them began.

"What is it? Resources?" Draven responded, looking up from his desk.

"No, sir. There's a hunter against our army. He murdered five of our soldiers in Region 28. Our inspectors found their bodies on the road," the soldier reported.

The commander showed Draven photographs of the corpses, highlighting the fatal wounds to their heads and necks. Draven's eyes narrowed as he examined the images. "An expert, huh?" he muttered.

"He's a pretty good hunter," the commander affirmed.

After a brief, tense discussion, Draven issued new orders. "Tell the troops to tighten security at all checkpoints. I want two helicopters dispatched immediately to find this hunter. Once you locate him, apprehend him and bring him to me. I despise anyone who opposes my army!" Draven commanded, his voice cold and menacing.

With Draven's orders ringing in their ears, the commanders relayed the instructions to the troops. Security on the island intensified, with soldiers becoming more vigilant at every checkpoint. The helicopters took to the sky, their mission clear: find the lone hunter and bring him to justice.

Hunter, meanwhile, remained hidden in the depths of the jungle. He had no illusions about the difficulty of his mission, but his resolve was unshaken. His life was now a game of cat and mouse, with the stakes higher than ever. Each day, he honed his skills, knowing that every encounter with Grimlock's soldiers brought him one step closer to his ultimate goal: Draven Grimlock.

As the helicopters scoured the island, Hunter moved with caution. He knew the jungle better than anyone, using its natural cover to evade detection. He kept a low profile, setting traps and leaving false trails to mislead his pursuers. The jungle was his ally, a vast, living labyrinth where he held the advantage.

The soldiers, meanwhile, grew increasingly frustrated. Days passed with no sign of the elusive hunter. They combed the jungle, interrogated villagers, and doubled their efforts, but Hunter remained a ghost, always one step ahead.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the jungle, Hunter prepared for another night of vigilance. He sat by his campfire, the flames flickering in the encroaching darkness. His mind drifted back to the past, to the day his life had changed forever.

He remembered the rockets, the explosions, the chaos. He remembered his mother, her final moments etched into his memory. That day had forged his resolve, turning him into the man he was now—a lone hunter with a singular mission.

As he lay down to rest, Hunter thought about the future. He knew the path ahead would be fraught with danger, but he was ready. Each day in the jungle was a test of his endurance, a battle of wits against Grimlock's army. But he was determined. He would not rest until Draven Grimlock paid for what he had done.

The next morning, Hunter awoke early, his senses alert. He listened to the sounds of the jungle, attuned to every rustle and chirp. He knew he had to stay one step ahead. Grimlock's soldiers were relentless, but so was he.

Hunter moved through the jungle with practiced stealth, always on the lookout for signs of his pursuers. He avoided well-trodden paths, opting for routes only he knew. As he navigated the dense foliage, he thought about his next move. He needed to strike a blow against Grimlock's army, something that would send a clear message.

That afternoon, as he scouted a new vantage point, Hunter spotted a small patrol moving through the jungle. He watched them closely, noting their movements and positions. They were cautious but not cautious enough. He took aim with his Remington Model 700, his breathing steady and controlled. One by one, he picked them off, each shot precise and lethal. The patrol never knew what hit them.

Satisfied, Hunter disappeared back into the jungle, leaving no trace of his presence. He knew that this would only intensify the search, but he welcomed the challenge. He was a ghost, a phantom in the jungle, and he would continue to fight until Draven Grimlock and his army were no more.

Back at the base, news of the latest attack spread quickly. The soldiers were on edge, knowing that the hunter was out there, watching, waiting. Draven Grimlock seethed with rage. This hunter was becoming a thorn in his side, a threat that needed to be eliminated.

Draven called for an emergency meeting with his top commanders. "This hunter must be stopped," he declared. "Increase patrols, double the checkpoints, and put more helicopters in the air. I want him found, and I want him brought to me alive. He will pay for his defiance."

The commanders nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. They knew that failure was not an option. The hunt for the lone hunter had become a matter of pride, a test of their supremacy on the island.

As the soldiers intensified their efforts, Hunter remained undeterred. He knew the jungle was vast and unforgiving, a perfect sanctuary for someone with his skills. Each day brought new challenges, but he was ready to face them. His mission was clear, his resolve unwavering.

Hunter's journey was far from over. The jungle was his battlefield, and he was prepared to fight to the end. He would not rest until Draven Grimlock was defeated, until the island was free from his tyrannical rule. And so, the hunt continued, a relentless pursuit in the heart of the jungle.
